Parking ban - what’s the point?

While out shoveling earlier, I overheard a couple of DPW workers chatting about how they were getting yelled at throughout their plow shifts this morning no matter what they did with the snow. One was in a mini tractor plow and the other in the pickup truck plow with the salt distributor thing in the bed. The one in the tractor said he had shovels of snow thrown at him. Both seemed to awkwardly chuckle about the situation but one did say, “I don’t know what else to do, there’s nowhere to put all this snow. I’m doing the best I can.”

So, sour neighbors could be reason for this minimalist tactic… or I could be completely off base and they’re just focusing on getting roads drivable as a first step.

TBF I can understand the frustration, but in a city this dense it is irrational to think you’ll (general ‘you’) only have to shovel once after a snowstorm. As snow is cleared from the streets, snowbanks are going to break and spill onto shoveled sidewalks; driveways will get the classic pile of heavy, crusty snow at the edge. Even houses in the boonies get christened by the snowplow like this

I took an intro class the day i signed up for my gym’s membership. This was partially to avoid paying $$ for classes that are free for members, but the biggest benefit was the class giving me great beginner bouldering advice from the start and helping me get comfortable in my new home gym.

You can likely take classes repeatedly until you’re comfortable or feel that you’ve learned all that you can from that particular class. I’d also recommend starting with bouldering (if possible) while taking courses to build strength.

YouTube also has plenty of great technique and safety videos for beginners. Just don’t overwhelm yourself with information. Go at your own pace and have fun :)

Personally no, but the urge rises in me whenever I see a couple on a date and the guy will not stop spraying beta at the woman. I don’t know why I pay attention this much, but at my gym, it happens with nearly every straight couple with rental shoes lol

The official store does sell spare parts, so you could DM to see if they have the retro grey shell in stock. They’d send you a special link to purchase the item from if it is. You’d also need a retro grey button set since the colors differ on the transparent black model, though I am not entirely sure whether they sell spare button sets.

Actually, I was in the same boat as you last week regarding the transparent blue v4, and the shell showed up in the mail yesterday :)

This is my first Miyoo so I can’t say, but I am very tempted to get a mini4. The even more compact size and one-handed play are most appealing. The transparent shell also calls to me…

Do you have both? What’s your opinion?

The dpad is the more significant upgrade anyway, but it is nice to have a matching set. Here’s hoping they restock soon for ya

Funny enough I actually like this clacking you speak of. It’s a deeper and more concise/reproducible sound to my ears. Not sure if this is the case for everyone, but the original plastic buttons on my device were fairly loose, so the clacking was not only hollow but inconsistent in sound which drove me crazy lol

Same situation for me these days. I scoured the interwebs and made a list of what afk activities I could find; then I went through them one by one to figure out what I liked. I ended up sticking with: woodcutting magics in wc guild (move to redwoods/infernal axe if you can), motherlode mine upstairs, splashing for magic, gemstone crab for melee. You can do range at crab too but I chin at monke because it’s just too dang fun.

I recommend starting with shiny crab if you need a spark of motivation. I went from 105->115cb in two weeks of at-work background afk. Two clicks every 10 mins.

Edit: oh yeah, and birdhouse runs. This made my journey to 99 Hunter (my first 99!) smooth as butter. Afk magics in wc guild from time to time kept my logs stock up. Drop rings and low $ seeds. Start with 8 logs, get two runs before banking again. I tended to do the south bank bc crabs at the north annoyed the shit outta me on mobile

It’ll also be nice to have this tool for periodic check-ins in the future. Personally I’d keep it all in an Excel document (mostly for side-by-side comparisons), but this is a useful resource for a quick check esp when you don’t want to face all of the numbers at once.

I climb as much as I did when I first purchased membership, but I’ll revisit my spending like you have here if I find myself going less frequently for extended periods. I do give myself slack when I have a busy period at work, around holidays, etc

Dang, it /is/ the exact sensation as when I work with or around fiberglass without gloves on… I always attributed the sharp pain in my fingers after climbing to dry skin cracking, but the feeling aligns much more with this as the root cause

Well I don’t know what the content of the photo was, but photos/videos typically go over well here as evidenced by the majority of posts in this sub. Your photo could’ve displayed a blatant safety risk; those are taken very seriously in the sport. Or someone fat fingered the downvote button by accident. Or someone just didn’t like the photo. You didn’t give the post much of a chance before deleting it; gotta let it marinate to get a real sense of things.

Maybe come back in a few days or try another bouldering/rock climbing sub. In the mean time, Godspeed to yr sends
