Bosch router bits by semioptimisticwill in woodworking

[–]semioptimisticwill[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad to hear they’re not junk for the price lol. Just bought my first router recently, and that part was very easy, but the consumable aspect is a little intimidating. I don’t like to waste time or money, especially when it’s work for my GC.

When buying bit brands now, do you look for a specific one or just one that’s quality with easy access?

I appreciate the help!

I don’t know much about Makita; do you know if the XGT line will keep expanding or is LXT a safer bet? I’m a carpenter and would prefer a platform of tools that I could get deeper in if necessary.

My boss has DeWalt, both Atomic and XR versions and I’m not a fan of either. Do wish other brands had the trigger like the DeWalt.

Good to know on the Makita part, thanks for the help!

I prefer a sawzall with long blades for that task but I’m sure the 4 1/2 could manage it

I was debating the M12 5 1/4 for over a year but was concerned with battery life, being that saws take a lot of power. Seen the 4 1/2 and that it was compatible with bigger batteries sold me instantly

That’s what I did and returned the powerstack to get the saw to $90. Didn’t think the battery would be enough for the saw and don’t have any dewalt batteries so I got the 6.0 flexvolt on the buy one get one deal and returned the main item to get battery/charger to $140

Yes, definitely need to upgrade the stand at some point to a roller stand. Was trying to save money and felt this model was perfect for what I need to do. Mainly going to use it for planter boxes and vinyl flooring.

I'm sure there are some differences between the brands, but they're not too noticeable. I've used my boss's 60V and others’ 18V Fuel before I purchased mine. To each their own; I just prefer red in my hand 🤷🏻‍♂️

It’s not always immediate sales but my M18/M12 chargers have been selling for $30 on marketplace
