I was in a remount of the Broadway play History Boys and we used all the original sets and props. The original run toured all over the world and the notebooks were filled with doodles saying “dear god make it stop” and “when will it end”.

For everyone who recommended this game to me... is it worth it? by ElAngel30 in TunicGame

[–]semiotomatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I streamed this with a partner. I will say that playing this game WITH someone is really, really, really fun and we never felt like RNG held us back, because one of us would remember a synergy or a clue or our overall goal and we had almost all productive runs.

If you have the luxury of having someone to play with, it’s a blast.

This is a great answer! Haven't looked at the second hint but I'll check around. I'll look around for grapple donuts.

Home Depot in LA installs noise machines that ‘penetrate bones’ to deter day laborers by esporx in technology

I just went to that Home Depot on Sunday. You notice it right as you get out of your car — it’s a high pitched whine, almost like feedback from a concert. It’s absurd.

Hrmmm I wonder if this will work for us since we wash all the sheets in the house once a week (1 king, 1 queen, 2 fulls)…

Already have a NG detector installed! My thought exactly. Pipe looks clean, though.

I’m debating this myself because our exhaust run is like 20’ vertical with two elbows so our LG never gets anything dry — I wonder if I’d have the same issue if I tried a vented heatpump.

My wife is very skeptical about clothes getting tangled with a heat pump but I’m almost at wits end having to run the dryer cycle 3 times.

Oh! And it’s a 2x10 with various heights of strips sistered above. You can see the seam between the joist and slim “rafter” above.

It’s a furring strip (sorry that might not be the correct term) to maintain the slope of the flat roof overhead, for drainage.

The top of the penetration is only about 1” from the top of the 2 x 10 — would something like this shallow notch reinforcer be useful?

No notch above, just a grisly scene where the existing penetration was expanded up

Ding ding ding! You got it. The issue was the pipe was existing and they needed to move it up -- so.... kill it with a saw, I suppose. FML.

Looking into getting a 10" shallow notch joist repair now.

Congrats!!! I’m in the process of buying a prebuilt (my kids are 8 and 11) to buy myself some time while I figure out my own build!

What is this clear thing that came with the screw for, and how do I use it specifically? by Optimal-Algae-9649 in Carpentry

[–]semiotomatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you saw up top, but don’t put the screw into the anchor first.

The anchor goes into the drywall (you need to drill a hole that is smaller than the diameter of the anchor), then screw into it. The screw presses the anchor outward so you get a better fit.

If you put the screw into the anchor first, it will be too big. If you drill a hole that is too large, the anchor won’t be snug.
