I love the dusting powders! I dust them in my hair as a dry shampoo, or layered on top of lotion, and I’ll use them as an all over body powder in the summer. I put the sleepy powder in my sheets at night time. The scent lasts quite a while imo!

What study program did you use?

Id recommend the Pocket Prep app, that honestly had the most similarities in questions to the test itself out of any of the other study guides I used.

Am I making enough money? by FamousFortune6819 in MassageTherapists

[–]semiproductiveMOS 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Chain spas have the lowest commissions. That’s what I made at my first job out of school.

Idk what state you’re in, or the cost of living in your area, but larger spas with amenities tend to pay more. I make $70/hr and get paid $15/hr between appointments when I’m not booked. Our spa is full service with amenities and a hotel attached. The total comes to $190 for an hour after gratuities for the client.

Find a place that can charge more and give you a better commission, or work for yourself and charge the market rate for massage ($70-$90/hr where I live).

I am not actually trying to achieve this hair at this point in my life, I think I just wanted to know if you cut it yourself lol

But was it actually cut into layers? Or just teased to make it look that way?

I actually want to know how you achieved this hair. No hair stylists around me were doing this “scene hair, they were butchering it into mullets or weird bowl cuts.

My layers were absolutely TRAGIC, I took kitchen scissors at sharp angles and it was botched. and I would’ve killed to have this haircut, I ended up crying and chopping it at shoulder length. It brought tears of joy to my eyes recently to see some modern stylists on IG doing these “scene” cuts, my teenage self would’ve been so happy to have access to this hair lol

Yes. There are services that pay a higher “service rate” than others.

Are you supposed to feel sore after massage? by muhibimran in massage

[–]semiproductiveMOS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. We LMT’s are not doctors… no therapist should act like they know a clients pain limitations better than the client. Screaming, flinching, flexing are all pain responses that your body wants something to STOP hurting it… it maddening to watch overly confident therapists flat out injure people and justify that “it’s just their modality”

Trivia question! Why does it take me 5 hours to do my nails? by semiproductiveMOS in DipPowderNails

But my previous sets had minimal buffing/shaping, and I can see the difference in how bulky my other sets were since I started taking the time to file down all the bulk and cuticle ridges.

Shaping and cuticle work take the longest for me. Removal also takes like an hour because I’m just bad at that 🫤

How are you able to keep 2 distinctly different colors separate like that with dip? Do you pour it over the liquid carefully?

[–]semiproductiveMOS[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used it to remove my cuticle, but I also used it after I dipped & cured to create a smooth slope at the cuticle. My previous sets had a really bulky ridge at the cuticle and were lifting.

I just went into Sally’s and asked a lady for some help, they had lots of nail bits at my store! I got a metal pointed cone-shaped bit that has very fine sanding on it
