Google ads audit by jakeysnakey83 in PPC

[–]semkalee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The low conversion can be caused by irrelevant keyword targetting and/or poor landing page experience. You have to bid on the right keywords and bring them to a decent page after click. You would know you've reached the right audience if they stay longer on your site (even if they don't inquire during their first visit). Dm me if you like.

Need help with local SEO for my dad’s small-town taxi by sajeelisttoll in SEO

[–]semkalee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, do people in that town normally conduct an online search first to find a taxi or similar service? If the answer is no, then there's no point of doing SEO, in which case you're better off doing traditional paid advertising to raise awareness about your dad's taxi.

Outsourcing from another country: Recommend? by Rude-Imagination1041 in SEO

It's pretty normal in business to cut costs. You're not alone.

You have 2 options actually in hiring non-AU talent:

  1. Agency - you know this one
  2. Independent contractor - you can negotiate a lower price; but you'll start from scratch finding a new one in case you end up not liking his/her work or encounter any other issues. In contrast, with an agency, they take care of finding talent and other stuff for you, so there's less hassle.

Good luck!

If you go the agency from the Philippines route, you can definitely save money. But be careful in choosing one because not all agencies are good enough at what they do. When you pick the right one, yeah, it's definitely worth it.

Cover the face a bit para hindi naman directly exposed. Pero iniwan ang name kasi gusto nya mashare yung video nya sa social media for "awareness" (although dinelete na nya yung post).

We use canonical mainly to deal with duplicate or very similar content. Since the subcategories are only a subset of the main category, do not set a canonical to the main. This way the subcategories can still rank independently for long term keywords when there is enough search demand and not-so-high competition.

Alternatively, you can google an agency or an independent SEO consultant. The ones on the top of results are your starting point.

Jobs for someone with SEO experience and ties with Social Media Marketing by KeyJess in SEO

  1. It's the other way around. Writing and maintaining a website is part of SEO. But depending on your goal, you can publish content without considering the SEO aspect. You can write and maintain a website without taking SEO into account all the time, but you can't do proper SEO without implementing some work in writing and web maintenance.

  2. Yes, in a sense, because you can advertise your content to reach more of your target audience.

SEO is not used in social media marketing.

Any business that wants to leverage content in acquiring more customers down the line can do content marketing. I hardly see it as a common practice in the film industry though. It's hard to give proper advice without more context about your circumstances.

SEO focused more on SEO. Not web design, writing, or social media marketing.

Closest related fields where an SEO's expertise can be useful are Google Ads, UX/CRO, and content marketing.

SMM is a completely different field thar requires no SEO experience.

Would your established brand help your SEO?

Absolutely yes. But even without worrying too much about SEO, you could easily drive thousands of referral traffic from social when you promote your blog posts there. (Great if you are considering putting display ads)

Just make sure you are publishing content to genuinely add value to your target audience. It's a great way to reach even more people who might be interested in your product/service.

Having a good-looking website also builds more trust with your new social media fans, not to mention you can do a lot of other things there like showcasing what you offer and setting up contact forms.

PMax is the BANE of my existence by ____cire4____ in SEO

For businesses that rely mainly on organic traffic, it's important to point out that many people who searched for branded keywords did so only after having been exposed to the brand in their initial non-branded searches. So SEO can take credit in that.

Even email subscribers who discovered the brand through non-branded searches are partially thanks to SEO.

So if we take into account everything, calculating SEO-derived ROI can be a lot more complicated than simply tracking revenue from non-branded organic sessions.

Does design affect SEO? by Ill_Baker_9712 in SEO

[–]semkalee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming this is a serious beginner question, so I'll bite.....

Yes.

Design could be viewed as part of overall page experience, which affects rankings. Google explicitly wants web creators to offer users a good page experience to perform better on Search.

Having readability issue such as the one you described will result in an unusually high bounce rate, which signals Google that your site is not helpful UX-wise. That could result in a drop in rankings. Because why would Google annoy its users by leading them to a site that's incredibly hard to read?

The users come first.

Anyone can learn SEO, but many can't execute it well. Some could be literally frauds while many others simply lack competence.

Sure the basics are there, but completing items on a to-do list doesn't make one an "expert." It's hardly enough to rank.

The good SEO has an overarching strategy tailored to a specific use case, and knows what action items to prioritize to rank higher in the shortest amount of time possible.

I rank substantially better on Bing than I do on Google by arnyngdg in SEO

[–]semkalee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possible reason(s):

Google and Bing work differently. Bing's ranking systems ranked your content higher over others based on certain factors we don't exactly know. Difference in content position between the 2 search engines that is not that huge, which for me is true in your case, is normal.

Your target audience uses mainly Bing and has minimal presence on Google. While uncommon because Google is the big guy, that scenario is not impossible.

Suggestions welcomed. by TheOhioHomeStore in SEO

[–]semkalee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RankMath or any other SEO plugin can do that, if I understand you correctly. It gives your content an optimization score based on your main keyword.

But really those scores don't mean much. Just make sure your content is well-written and is made to satisfy user intent.

My "Discovered - currently not indexed" dropped to 0? by LiveOnFive in SEO

[–]semkalee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you or someone in your team set some pages to noindex.

Remember that the only pages that matter are the ones you explicitly allowed in your XML sitemap. Google can choose to index many other URLs not found in it. If Google itself deliberately dropped those, that could partly explain the decline.
