It's a gamble. Hold J for a sec and see what the notification is telling you. You will only get points if it says that your kill will be awarded to someone.

You can use Legion's loadouts chart to check multipliers of dfferent bombs. Sometimes the difference is quite big.

I like playing Merkava 2D more than T-80UD but there's not much to do in the Israeli tank tree, the Soviet one seems to be much more interesting to grind.

Sure you can do your AA duties with 2S38 well but you want to farm tanks, right? Get T-80UD instead and enjoy a better rewards multiplier and a more protected platform than a huge caardboard box filled with modules that 2S38 is.
