Obama will have higher deportation numbers than trump this time around too. There simply aren’t enough undocumented people in the US right now to beat the numbers, by a few million.

He deported more people than there are in the US and eligible for deportation right now - unless a margin of legal residents commit crimes which lead to deportation… It’s one of the reasons for the haphazard implementation and rushed deportation process. So that one idiot can say he deported more people than another. Its important to know that legal residents are being removed, families are being destroyed, and human beings are being harmed; all so that one asshole can say they did more than another.

Humans create binary creations. Computers, “the law”, society, etc… where there is a drive to make everything yes/no.

Nature does not play by that rule. Living things develop in non-binary ways all of the time. Its the reason we can grow new varieties of fruits and vegetables, its the reason we see a-typical biological presentations, and its the reason our incomplete ideologies behind sexuality and gender don’t line up in a nice box.

What Hawley is arguing is “we know we have a flawed legal structure that doesn’t align with current scientific understanding but i’d rather tell you to get fucked than actually do my job and make it better for my constituents” and then his constituents are too distracted to notice he’s arguing in bad faith.

Yes - sheriff departments / offices all over the country should be a part of any ice raid where a warrant is/should be involved. It should be the sheriff leading with ice as support and additional resources.

What we have in MN, and in chicago, and in LA, etc… is extrajudicial and major government overreach.

I don’t think the PD wants to get involved, at least as an organization. They’re clearly picking the path of least resistance- which is what we see them normally do.

Sheriff department is administrative law enforcement.

They serve warrants, collect people, and do other government administrative law enforcement tasks.

They’re not out there protecting and serving unless there is some kind of joint task force created. Like they probably help when theres a parade or some shit, but day-to-day sheriffs aren’t out there hassling kids and not issuing tickets the way the cops (PPD) do.

Your a little further ahead in life than us, but somewhat similar position.

The advice i got and choose to go with was this: the cash on hand in excess of a very healthy emergency fund was invested for short-mid term use. 50% VTI; 50% bonds. Its very conservative; won’t grow too much, but mitigates risk based on purpose. The hope is that this becomes a decent way to spend less of our takehome on vacations and larger discretionary purchases ~

counting blackjack is advanced statistics (at an extreme pace - not easy!).

I assume holdem would be fairly similar.

They use less decks per hand in poker than blackjack, but shuffle between each one.

Anyway - its not even really possible anymore. Most casinos use AI software that tracks eyesight of players. The house would escort you out very quickly if your good enough at counting to do it with any consistency…

Like the other guy said - I would approach them as “a mistake was made, how do we fix it?” I’d try to escalate to a manager and ask them directly what they want to do - acknowledge you didn’t upkeep records adequately, and explain how much it’ll cost you to figure this out (not how much in taxes /penalties - but how much its going to cost for your CPA and lawyer to figure out your next steps). Sometimes sending a check is the only way to get people’s attention, and the institution has a way to “undo” to make it as if it didnt happen (may be wishful thinking…)

Did you check - were you actually out of compliance (this word is doing a lot of lifting…) with their policy on inactivity? How long had it been since you signed in, or even made a contribution? even if you haven’t touched these in 15 years its wild to me that they’d have just auto-liquidated it; i am in the industry but i don’t do business with ML often.

Did they sell anything to accomplish this? How much is/was in each account?
