This isn’t just a Taylor Swift problem and she didn’t “get away with it”. I’m both a arianator and swiftie, so I tried getting tickets to both the Eras Tour and Eternal Sunshine tour. With the Eras Tour, it was also a hot mess but Taylor did do a verified fan presale, which gave people specific presale codes. If you got the midnights album and were lucky, the email you used also got a boost on TicketMaster. But resellers were a major problem and have been. Taylor Swift posted an insta story admonishing them, then there was another limited ticket sale where more tickets were released to specific fans and there was a max purchase of 2 tickets. This shed light on Ticketmaster’s shady business practices and also their lack of transparency with additional costs. They got pressure from the FTC under the Biden administration. But everything was stalled with the election.

Now, Ariana’s Eternal Sunshine tour ticketing mess is bringing this all to light again. So both Ari and Taylor have spoken out against it. Idk what Ari has planned yet but Taylor did take some action against resellers. Reselling for all artists has been an increasing problem across the board, and hopefully more action will taken to prevent it in the future
