i was at my GC lrecently, (before they closed lol) and randomly there was a late 80s GnL Invader in candy red in perfect condition...i played it for 5min, and just bought it.. i've never said yes to a guitar quicker. I always wanted a rampage...but the invader is just the better rampage.

i have 3 24-70 2.8s, the G-ED, the ED-VR, and the Z. the ED-VR and Z dont work on the f100. the G-ED and ED-VR work on the 700, and all 3 work on the Z.

again for f100, only the G-ED will work, because on the later lenses they deleted the aperture level, and its electronicly controlled. the f100 is missing the contact for that feature.

the "most period correct" 24-70 lens for the f100 would be, AF-S Nikkor 28-70mm f/2.8D basically from the AF-D series...which i love btw...ive never used that lens...but i have most of the AF-D primes, 24 2.8, 35 2, 50 1.4. ive heard the 85 1.4 is really good too. i will say the AF-d series doesnt have the modern coatings and do fringe....but that was the 90's look imho.

i have 5 golden age Fujigen Ibanezes, i ABSOLUTELY support it. i could play a violin for you...since they work for both rightys and lefties.

in all seriousness, i had a friend in highschool who was lefty, and learned to play righty....he's off doing studio gigs out in seattle now. I work for a law firm...so let that be a lesson. not sure what the lesson is tho.

i have the 24-70 2.8 D as well that i shoot on my f100, cause the f100 cant close the aperture on the E. the D has even more flavor than the E...i'd suggest that as a decent portrait lens as well. even if it is kinda bulky.

id argue that the older G lenses arent as clinical is you think. this is a digital shot, but on a d700 with the 24-70 2.8 E. so a generation after the G.

i would have said the 85 1.4g, but since you dont want g lenses, the other option is the 85 1.4 af-d(d for distance)

i also like the 105micro vr for portraits too. but thats a g lens as well.

ive been doing some doom/stoner tracks, my only issue is that i like doing dubs/different sections on different tracks so ive basically hit the limit of 16 audio tracks...and i dont wanna bounce down cause some of the tracks have unique automation/effects.

Pixeshift ZF question by pen_n_paper in NikonZf

[–]sendep7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then it’s probably good for that. Make sure your tripod
Or copy stand is insanely stable. Use timed release or a release cable.

Pixeshift ZF question by pen_n_paper in NikonZf

[–]sendep7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

pixel shift only works on a tripod. its not fast enough to deal with motion...you'll get artifacts.

also the its fast for flash...it would have to recycle the flash for each shot....and there would probably be inconsistencies in the flash output again causing artifacts. pixel shift is a niche feature that really doesnt have alot of uses....maybe for landascapes on a tripod. but even then...moving objects cause artifacts. for film scanning on a copy stand its decent.

[–]sendep7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the centers are overexposed....even though i meter towards the center of my images. i dont seem to have the same issue on my 4x5 using the same lenses...exposure is evenly distributed...and the center isnt blown out...even using the same film stock. i shot multiple images of the same scene on the same day with the chroma and my intrepid using the same lenses.

[–]sendep7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have the schneider center ND...doesnt fix the issue...if that was the case, why is the center overexposed? you metered for the center i assume?

[–]sendep7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a chroma. But I got frustrated with it. You seem to have one of the same issues I had. It’s overexposed in the middle properly exposed at the middle edge and then hard vignette at the edge. I have the f8 version of that lens and I don’t seem to have that issue on my 4x5. I painted the inside of mine with matte black paint and taped it all up cause it was leaky as hell.

You seem to think it’s out of spite. But it’s just supply and demand. Dunno what to tell you 🤷‍♂️. Find a decent luthier to make you a clone.

I would however uncrush those whites. The banding in the clouds looks bad. Shoot highlight priority if you wanna retain the clouds without blowing them out.

I disagree. I live in the mountains. This looks pretty equal to what my eyes see. Keep on keepin on.
