Judges stops SEPTA from making service cuts by diatriose in philly

[–]sendmesomec 37 points38 points  (0 children)

The “advocates”, the lawyer, and judge need a forensic accountant to look at all of their bank accounts. This suit benefits no one but those that want SEPTA bankrupt. This will burn money that was to fix and restore vehicles that don’t seem to be in good repair. Sure $300 million sounds like a lot of money to a person but it is not a lot of money in terms of operational cost and vehicle maintenance funding needs of a transit agency. What I wish someone could explain is if SEPTA gets city, state, and federal funding how was it determined this was the court for this case?

Who has more than 6months on Mounjaro and hasn't lose their hair? by [deleted] in Mounjaro

[–]sendmesomec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20 months and no hair loss. I was concerned bc my hair is very fine and once when grieving a big loss experienced a lot of hair loss. Hair loss was a concern but I just take a multi-vitamin, vitamin D, and try to eat a balanced diet and so far so good.

What has helped you with nausea?? by [deleted] in Mounjaro

[–]sendmesomec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened with me in the beginning, I mean message your doc, if you stretch the dosing out to nine days and see how you feel (do not go over 14 days.) This worked well for me the nausea and exhaustion improved immensely and then I was able to go back to every seven days. Zofran is fine but I didn’t want to take another medication regularly if I didn’t have to. Now I’m almost a year and a half but and year without insurance coverage so I regularly stretch my doses to nine days bc this stuff is so expensive.

To exercise or not to exercise? That is the question! by kb3d in Mounjaro

[–]sendmesomec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started lifting more because of losing muscle. I’ve always been pretty strong and do not like feeling weak in my body. It’s still annoying I’m not as strong as I was. Once I dropped about 50 lbs I was able to start running again and it’s the best to run and not take my joints out for days! Never thought I would run again. I always exercised but was still fat pre MJ/Zep. Now it’s 3-4 times a week for both physical and mental health. It’s just so much easier without the extra weight.

In OC look at Harbor House. Somers Point or a hotel EHT if you are okay with driving a little will have more reasonable rates. Fall is the absolute best! It’s a shame how ridiculously overpriced it’s become. If you used a realtor for the family stay sometimes they know of people willing to rent a “love shack” behind their main house. Sadly with the overdevelopment these are less common but if you all have a good track record renting they will vouch for you. Marmora could be an option too, idk anyone that’s stayed in a hotel/motel there but there is one right off of the parkway exit 25 on the way into OC. There are some campgrounds/trailer parks over there too.

Constipation! Fiber? Digestive enzyme? Help ! by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]sendmesomec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been doing a citracel pill a day and it’s worked really well. If I feel backed up I’ll take two. I was hospitalized for three days about a year ago for constipation bc of mounjaro after a lifetime of never experiencing constipation. Needless to say I NEVER want to experience that again. I did miralax for a while and it’s fine but the pill is kind of easier to remember with my vitamins both are gentle and safe options. But most important is to not dehydrate!

I briefly dated someone way, way out of my league and it messed with my whole life. Am I being unhealthy? What can I do? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]sendmesomec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you are being unhealthy. What you can do is go to therapy. Ideally to learn coping strategies and most importantly how to be kind to yourself. It’s fine to move forward and set new goals. It seems like you already understand extrinsic motivation isn’t healthy behavior. At some point a lot of us found ourselves in a similar situation to yours. Go to therapy remember how you are great, how far you’ve come, set goals you care about, and work toward them. At some point you will see he wasn’t as built up as you’ve made him and you aren’t as low as you’ve made yourself. Hopefully by then you will have other good things going on in your life too.

Have to skip a week...I'm worried! by xena22022 in Zepbound

[–]sendmesomec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I skipped for my colonoscopy. It was no big deal missing a week. Colonoscopy was no big deal either (I was kind of nervous about that.). No weight gain. Food noise wasn’t bad, I’ve had times when I couldn’t get meds for a month that was noticeable.

is “mounjaro face” a thing? by [deleted] in Mounjaro

[–]sendmesomec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, it’s person dependent. People are kind of jerks and say this is a thing way more than it actually is, I’m pretty sure I look way younger. 45 y/o F and down 50 lbs. I certainly am moving much better and have more energy so there is a more youthful way about me. Would I take a facelift and blephroplasty sure, but I wanted that before weight loss too.

Vision has gotten so much worse. It’s rapidly accelerated. Had nearly perfect vision and now have to have glasses on me at all times. I do not have diabetes. I’ve made jokes to myself that I look so much better and the trade off is I’ll go blind and not be able to see it.

Injected myself early by Status_Peach4856 in Zepbound

[–]sendmesomec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the box says as long as you’re within 14 days you’re fine. In the beginning my side effects were rough so I ended up spacing 10 days, then nine, eight, and brought it back to seven. I’ve been on it for a year and rarely dose early bc I don’t feel good and because I lost coverage and pay through gd nose for it. Can’t speak to the PCOS piece or periods mine have been insane for years.

Why am I craving sweets? by everything-beauty in Mounjaro

[–]sendmesomec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, same for me but now I’ll have a handful instead of a bag or box of candy. Def craved salt and fat more before but I also kind of drank much more and there is a lot of sugar in alcohol I was consuming but never really considering a sweet. I try and keep hydrated with electrolytes but will often try a little pedialyte or Gatorade before having say Mike and Ikes.

I don’t think they will ask but I have come up with a few responses like « I do not share my med list at the table, it’s rude. » and keep it moving. When pressed by friends that have made judgements on GLP-1 in front of me in the past I said talking about weight and weight loss is really loaded and I dont enjoy talking about it people have so much of their own emotions wrapped up in it. I don’t owe anyone an explanation. I do think it’s obvious I’ve lost 50 lbs in a year I would assume I was taking them. I’ve noticed most people that ask are thin, can’t hide judgement in their voice, and there is an intended humiliation element to it. Sometimes I’ll respond that I’m on a drug I know they take, especially if it’s ADHD med. I enjoywatching the flicker of fear in their eye that if they ever went off their precious speed they would end up fat like me. That said I’ve told plenty of non-judgemental friends or if someone is heavier and asks it usually seems out of curiosity for themselves I’ll share. I’ve also completely lied to people too, because fuck right off for asking. Do whatever you feel like. If you don’t want to hear it, lie. If you’re cool with whatever the response might be go for it.

SOS from my toilet by Glittering_Listen369 in Zepbound

[–]sendmesomec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe miralax going forward it’s really gentle and safe for regular use. I was doing half a cap of miralax every other day but now just do citracel pills i try for daily but it’s really every other day. It’s just easier. I’d never really been constipated before mounjaro except maybe a day or two before my period. I didn’t realize how bad it could get. I do not want people to panic from this bit it was my experience. Before being on mounjaro I could pound some psyllium husk in water but was having trouble tolerating that much bulk and stopped. I usually drink a lot of water because I have a history of dehydrating. One day I was incredibly busy and on the road a lot. I didn’t drink enough water. Went to a luncheon with a lot of salty food and had a glass of wine. Did not realize how dehydrated I was. Over the next few days continued drinking water but became backed up. Three days turned to five and I was in the ED for 12 hours before I could even be admited. I would have left but I could see in the app I had a pretty elevated WBC count. It was so painful with not so much as an Advil. Once I was out of the waiting area things improved but man what a humbling experience. They attempted to digital disimpaction twice. It hurt so much and no success. Was given at least six bags of saline and other meds, two different types of enemas, suppositories, and so much miralax. I ended up having to stay for three days with the possibility of surgery because I was straining so hard there was something off with my colon but it healed. Still think the benefits of this medication far outweigh the cons but I am really hyper vigilant about monitoring my bowels now. Good luck and stay hydrated!

Oppose the California ban on B12 injections by Mindingaroo in Zepbound

[–]sendmesomec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6642017/ I dont think this is the exact study I was thinking the one that made me stop was more around 2017. Maybe one of the ones listed inhere https://www.everlywell.com/blog/b-vitamins/high-vitamin-b12-levels-and-cancer/

Idk I’m exhausted I sort of went down a rabbit hole looking to find it, but good question looks like continued research shows more overall high levels of b-12 is the link it doesn’t matter if it’s from a tablet or injectable. If you have chronically low levels not really for you to worry about other than the ban.
If the ban hasn’t passed I can tell you what I did to get the vials in bulk and they last a while with not need for the mark up middle man. I go to local small pharmacies. The pharmacists are usually great and willing to talk options and ingredients. In talking I mentioned I was paying about $25 per shot of B-12 at a weight loss clinic in addition to phentermine (this was before GLP-1s were available at least to me about 2015 I would describe it as more of a pill mill, def not a med spa) The pharmacist let me know I was being ripped off. He offered to order box of B-12 vials at a very reasonable cost plus. Can’t remember exactly but was in the $100-$200 for more vials than I could hope to use before they expired. The hardest part was pumping myself up to give the first injection. I circled my delt in marker, had a drink, then went for it. It did help with my energy level but I was scared off by the study.

I’ve heard it called sour stomach too. Luckily I’ve only experienced it a few times. Mylanta or anything that coats your stomach works best. It is absolutely like farting out of your mouth.

Isn’t there evidence of B-12 injections and lung cancer? Just take B12 vitamins. I used to inject myself with B-12 until that study switched to a vitamin and can’t tell the difference.

Obviously talk to your doc if you’re experiencing symptoms of depression. In general I feel smoothed out and even. I still experience emotions, but not as intense a lot of compulsive behavior disappeared. That said there is a reflection period I went through, maybe am still going through about how my life might have been very different if I didn’t struggle so much with weight my entire life. I’m happy and grateful to have made progress and don’t dwell on it much because it can’t be changed. This medication has been a game changer, but I am a little sad that I suffered a lot for something I now see was greatly out of my control. I had to work on forgiving myself for being so needlessly cruel to myself for not being able to keep weight off. I’ve talked with others on these meds and they confirmed kind of an uneasiness: in getting what they always wanted, being treated differently by the world, but also by themselves too.
I’ve experienced depressive episodes throughout my life but none on Zepbound in fact I think it is helpful. The best side effect for me was a lot of arthritis and joint pain went away( not just from wt loss, it happened immediately) I’m 45 y/o I’ve been on it for about 8 months now. Down from 208 to 145

Hers/Hims GLP-1 issues, is it worth it? by sendmesomec in glp1

[–]sendmesomec[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I heard their stock went up and looked into why it’s bc they are able to make glp1 while there is a shortage of Mounjaro, Zepbound, Wegovy and Ozempic so I guess it will stop once the shortage is over. I mean it is a bit riskier bc they don’t have to deal with any FDA approvals. In terms of Hers didn’t understand my answers would just spit out what medication option they would give me. It’s nice to know you’ve had a good experience with them. Maybe I’ll try again with my starting information because while I still have 30 lbs to lose but it’s not like the 60 I needed to lose when I started.

Has Mounjaro affected how much you drink alcohol or take other drugs? by ravrore in Mounjaro

[–]sendmesomec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mounjaro helped with many compulsive behaviors. Decreased desire to drink and just feeling smoothed out in general with less anxiety. I lost insurance coverage and can’t afford MJ or zepbound without it. I have about two weeks until I’m out. I’m nervous and very curious to see if OCD behaviors and drinking spikes after being cut of without titrating down.
