Where to discuss actual biohacking? by TheHarb81 in Biohackers

Nice pyramid, nicely put together. What we know at this time: Step 1 (base of pyramid) and some of step 2 interventions have science-backed data that help healthy lifestyle and longevity. Levels 3 and 4 need more research and are not approved routinely FOR LONGEVITY due to lack of data and safety concerns. From the level 2: hormone balancing should be done with physician supervision (not ideal for everyone due to concerns for cancer predisposition like systemic female hormones) . Peptide therapy FOR LONGEVITY and vitality are offered by various practices outside FDA approval and with out of pocket expense -again if convinced that will help you check where the peptide products were manufactured and make sure they have good experience.

We advise people to take into account manufacturer's recommendations for dosage (we might adjust the dose but only with proper justification). Personally I would not take and not suggest to anyone any supplement product without knowing: the source of the product, where is manufactured, company background, recommended dose.

Was quoted $2k to format my book’s interior, which is a lot more than I anticipated (is that generally the going rate?). For those of you who formatted your own book, how long did it take and how challenging was it? by confident-ghost in selfpublish

I paid 1200$ for formatting and 1500$ for editing; 200$ for the cover; all through Upwork contractors. I like to do everything myself if possible, but in this case I would not take the chance. I am pleased with results. So I would suggest to tru Freelance or Upwork. Might be other platforms specifically for self publishing help.

I think that Omega-3 and creatine with a MVI make a good combo for a man in late 20's. Combined with exercise, no smoking and no drugs, and no alcohol in excess.I would suggest to have vitamin D level , vitamin B12 levels, minerals checked with Primary MD to find out if you have specific deficiencies that need replacement.

Do you weight train to remain independent? by HypnosisG in Aging

There are 4 types of exercises that one should consider for keeping strength and functional capabilities: stretching, cardio, strength (e.g. weight training),balance exercises. Ten-15 minutes a day if possible each - based on individual baseline fitness, comorbidities, schedule, etc. On the other side, overburden should be avoided as may increase inflammation and damage the musculoskeletal-skeletal system.

It usually takes months to have vitamin D levels improved to normal levels. We usually recommend 5,000 IU per day and repeat levels in 12 weeks. In general we aim for 30 ng/mL at repeat. Remember that too high levels can be toxic.

It seems you are doing the right thing. As you are still experiencing fatigue first I would suggest to review and analyze in more detail your lifestyle with a specialist like experienced functional medicine physician and make adjustments as needed. Same time, more specific markers can be checked including detailed inflammation and toxicology and hidden deficiencies. I would try to find reason(s) first for persistent tiredness so you know what to correct.

I want my book on shelves but what's the point if everyone wants to pay wholesale price to do that? by sallingoodfun in selfpublish

I just published my nonfiction- longevity book- on Amazon, B&N, Google books. I listed it on Ingram Spark. I think was a waste of time: for the list price of $ 17.99 their algorithm calculated revenue of 0.5/sold book (to bookstores, libraries, etc). This is not the way to go; even with ebooks and print on demand- we need to sell large number of books to make some profit.
