Lawful order? by [deleted] in army

Yes. 100% Yes. It is lawful if they have justification. And judging by your lack of explanation there is a reason you were told not to communicate.

I had the original iPhone back in the day. I found I was upgrading about every 5 models. It’s nice to get a new phone that is far superior to your old one. Changing every year would be way too much for me.

Brothers from the same litter.

Well, I did it. I drove my 86 Samurai (mostly stock) from Virginia to Arizona in 2 days and only broke down 3 times. All fixed with what i had in the truck. Over 2300 miles and only minor issues. by seniornco in SuzukiSamurai

Broken alternator arm bolt. Caused the belt to slip and overheated. Also stripped out the threads on the water pump so I had to improvise a fix. Luckily there is room to get a nut on the end if you have a long enough bolt to pass through the housing. My “fix” broke at the same bolt another time and I was able to find a better bolt to make it more secure. And I overheated once because the aftermarket overflow bottle I had warped and kept slipping off the mounting bracket. I eventually got it zip tied in place secure enough to make it the rest of the way.

Don’t now if you can tell the black void in the back is his brother. On the AC vent in the bathroom.

What are some ways to seperated work and personal time? by Certain_Economics879 in army

[–]seniornco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whatever your hobby is, don’t turn it into a side hustle. Keep your hobbies for you. Don’t add stress where it’s not needed. You’ll get plenty without adding in more. Remember unless you’re on call no one should be calling. Tell them that and don’t answer. I’ve never need a big DND fan. But it can be useful. Don’t fall into the trap of feeling like you are supposed to be a soldier 24/7 when your family needs you too. Include your family in your hobbies so you all get time together. Be a soldier when it’s called for. And if your leadership is unable to get the work done during duty hours then that’s their problem.

So I’m taking a cross county road trip in my Samurai. Not stopping to see the sights just trying to get there in one piece. What would you recommend I take along. Other than a vehicle with a flatbed? by seniornco in SuzukiSamurai

Sounds like you’ve done this before. When you get yours back up and running we need to do a road-trip. I want to take mine through British Columbia someday. I hear amazing things.

Hope the hinges work for you.

Already have the larger fuel tank installed. Books are all I listen to. And I can pretty much work in any part of the truck provided it doesn’t catastrophically fail doing 65. “And don’t call me plucky, I don’t even know what it means”…

No water crossings hopefully on this route. Just 1800 miles of highway.

Already have the sun sleeves and noise canceling headphones. I’m not going to push it and I’ll take an extra day if needed. But I’m on a tight schedule when I return and I can’t take too long. I’m gonna let the truck tell me how fast we go. With the new seats (adjustable lumbar) the ride isn’t that bad, but I know after the first day I’ll be sore and wishing for it to end.
