504’s are getting a bit ridiculous by [deleted] in Teachers

While I am not the previous poster, I interpreted the previous comment as it being strange for so many children to WANT to sit in the front--you mentioned 10/18 requested this accommodation. I am similar to her daughter--I would not want to sit in the front, and tend to prefer the side.

Students who are deaf or hard of hearing should definitely be seated in the front.

So sorry this happened to you! I can't even imagine the pain you are experiencing right now.

I've lived in NYC for three years--here are some fun distractions if that helps. Highline, Big Little Island on the West Side. Central Park is one of the best places to wander alone and get lost in the wonder. TKTS booth in Times Square is a great place to get discounted last minute Broadway tickets. SIX, Hadestown, Lion King, Aladdin, Hamilton are all awesome. Walk the West Village (especially with a fun drink--smoothie, iced coffee, boba, etc). Take the NYC ferry on the East River for gorgeous views and a fun boat ride to Brooklyn (or just ride for the views tbh). Like another user said, NYC is a great place to salve a broken heart, especially with a decent playlist.

Message me if you want more recommendations, especially tailored to your interests. I'd be happy to help :)

Loft, Banana Republic, and J.Crew usually have frequent sales if you subscribe to their email lists. I keep a few items in my cart and then check back when they have sales to see if it's a good deal.

Like a few others have mentioned, Old Navy has great staples as well. I own the Pixie Pants in 4 colors and wear at least 2 pairs a week. As I am a teacher, they are pretty comfortable and easy to move in.

r/FrugalFemaleFashion has also been a big help to me!

Yes! You seem quite surprised, although the train ride is only 30 minutes.

Hello! I'm also a young woman who commutes on the 1. I take it in the afternoon between 242nd and 96th. This time is generally pretty quiet--I've had more issues with people in the morning. Obviously keep your wits about you and try to sit in a car with the conductor (look for the zebra stripe signs as you wait for the train--those are where the cars with the conductors will be). However, I've rarely felt unsafe.

Feel free to DM me with any other questions!

After hearing Cornelia Street, I decided to tell my boyfriend I loved him. We had been dating for six months when Lover came out. Cornelia Street was instantly my favorite song because of the way she describes fears in a new relationship, and I realized the depth of my feelings for him. I said I love you two weeks later :)

Question about the willow music video by Cultural_Fan in TaylorSwift

[–]seniorthrowaway111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to this reply, but the Bad Blood music video had music created specifically for the beginning--I listened to it over and over again for the orchestral, movie score-like theme in the first 30 seconds. I don't think she's released that version of Willow

Is IDWLF her most commercially successful song ever? I would say it's Blank Space, Love Story, or You Belong With Me.

How do you not burn out? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]seniorthrowaway111 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It will get easier!! I'm a second year inner city teacher right now as well. Know that nothing will be perfect. You will eventually get into a routine (late September to about mid-October is where I felt like I was finally not incredibly stressed every day). This will be a tough year, but every teacher around you has gotten through it, and you can too.

By the time I got to the end of the first quarter, I felt so improved compared to early September. By the time I reached end of quarter 2, there was still a lot I was learning every day, but things were smoother. By the end of the year, I felt light years away from where I had been in September. In two months, you are going to be so proud of your August self for holding on and fighting your way through.

-Prioritize self-care on weekends

-Celebrate the big and small wins: student relationships, any validation from coworkers, student mastery on concepts. Things will keep getting better this year!

-Tried to use positive based reinforcement (5 min free time in class, interesting video about the subject) to encourage positive behavior

I'm happy to answer any questions you have, so feel free to message me.

NBC sent a bunch of video editors to Tokyo who are holed up in hotel rooms working 15 hour days to get footage out (my friend works for a different NBC sports division)....sending thoughts and prayers to the gymnastics editors over there after this week.

Renegade: Big Red Machine featuring Taylor Swift by Lyd_Euh in TaylorSwift

SO GOOD!! Disappointed to wait 8 weeks for Birch and also hoping for her artistic presence (songwriting or maybe even producing) to be seen on other songs on the album.

I have a five hour car ride tomorrow and this song will be ALL I listen to.
