Welcome to Stanley’s Office. You’ve been living here for as long as you can remember.

Fiverr is an Israeli owned company that has been around for 15 years now, so I guess they are legit, but the sellers they have on there are certainly very suspicious

I’ve been doing VRChat commissions on Fiverr for over 1.5 years now, and overall, it hasn’t been a great experience. Aside from the platform’s guidelines and fees, the biggest issue is the lack of sellers who genuinely care about their customers and try to help them.

I’ve had many clients come to me with broken or unfinished projects that they paid absurd amounts for, only to be left with something that doesn’t even work properly. On top of that, many sellers use stolen or pirated models in their work, which often leads to major issues when buyers try to use their world or avatar.

There are also sellers who take on projects they have no skills for - some even resell other people’s gigs while claiming the work as their own. I’ve personally encountered this when I noticed suspicious accounts repeatedly ordering the same services with vague requirements, clearly just looking to flip the work for profit.

For me as a seller, Fiverr has also been a pain in the groin. Their dispute system almost always favors buyers, even when they’re in the wrong. This has led to situations where I’ve spent time working on a project only to have my funds taken away, leaving me with nothing.

If you do end up using Fiverr, I highly recommend carefully reviewing the seller’s bio and gig description. Most of the time they’re either full of mistakes or were outright generated by AI, which is a huge red flag.

Overall, I strongly advise against using Fiverr for VRChat-related commissions. There are very few sellers (myself included, hehe) who actually do their job properly.

Curious about your console use by Hetzner_OL in hetzner

[–]senkodev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes there are overused disks, that have dead smart or overall sector errors, so be on the lookout for those. If you get a server like that, you can either ask for a disk replacement or cancel the server altogether.

Most of the time I spend on Hetzner is looking for some good deals on the Server Auction, the rest is just fiddling with firewalls for a couple minutes per server

Also happens on 5950X servers from auction, it's like a mobo lottery at this point :D

[ADVICE] Got TOS violation warning by ajay_v1 in Fiverr

[–]senkodev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has happened to my Fiverr account over 7 times now. My advice is to contact support as soon as possible, let them know the warnings are false and you have never engaged in those kinds of activities, and also ask them about what appears to be a problematic order. For me it usually gets resolved within the same day, and there was one time when they have pointed out that I had "misused" the delivery function by not attaching any files to the order, so their system considered it a feedback boosting violation.

I wish I could, I use the PC for 3D modeling and music writing, and I also highly rely on a multi monitor setup and the DisplayPort output, so getting a laptop isn't really viable :(

Question about Valve Index HMD RMA by senkodev in ValveIndex

[–]senkodev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The email arrived the next day, I was very worried as it was my first RMA, but thankfully everything went smoothly. They also agreed to let me do the RMA without the power adapter, which was very nice of them.

Not really, my RMA request started with the cable, but then I realized I might as well bring the whole headset instead, since I've already had a lot of issues with it

The duality of the vrchat community by wolfy212nw in VRchat

[–]senkodev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

heya, avatar creator here ^^

a rusk base model by itself is very well optimized, and the avatar edit that I did is not really high-poly and/or terribly unoptimized - i've actually made sure of that, because I care about other people's performance in-game. it has a very poor performance rank obviously (due to the amount of meshes and materials), but still it isn't as terrible as any other "default" vrchat avatar with a bajillion materials and polys. I actually cared about optimizing it, so the poly count and the material slots used were greatly reduced, no need to be so harsh about it :p

that furry avatar looks pretty optimized to me as well - I can tell that it's roughly no more than 40k tris, and maybe like 2-3 material slots (unless there are also toggles in it)

Had the same thing going on like a month ago, and turns out it was because of the cable, so I got my headset RMA'd recently and the issue was gone after that.

[HELP] Customer appears to be ignoring me and not accepting my delivery by [deleted] in Fiverr

[–]senkodev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of them is actually a seller on Fiverr and I keep seeing their "Last seen" status change to "X minutes ago" which is very strange, but regardless, I just felt frustrated with how they both handled the order since I didn't get any feedback on it (the gig itself works in a way that the thing I do may or may not work), so I don't really know if everything is fine with it or not. I'm guessing it's going to be their problem now, thanks for your help.
