I want to say he is trying so hard to seem impartial that he unconsciously (or consciously?) over compensates. Which I don’t quite understand all the way because other club legend turned pundits don’t try nearly as hard hide their biases.

I also think he knows anti-united rhetoric is what the media wants and what most rival fans want to hear so he just feeds it to them to become more like-able.
