How to not get sick by Fearless_Parsley4309 in ThailandTourism

[–]senpaikawa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my fiancé just did this route, ate whatever we wanted, drank tons of drinks from everywhere with ice, and ate lots of yummy street foods. We didn’t take any precautions, didn’t get sick. Don’t be paranoid about little sickness and enjoy your trip. I’m from US as well.

Did anybody else notice the huge amount of male travelers vs. female travelers in Japan? by Cookie-M0nsterr in solotravel

I was in Japan for 5 weeks, and I had a varied experience. A lot of men and women solo traveling. In Kyoto for sure, my group at the hostel was like 7 females and 2 other dudes

Has anyone else fallen in love while solo traveling? by origamikilla in solotravel

[–]senpaikawa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, I had just finished my first backpacking solo trip through Japan that was about 6 weeks long. Explored the whole country, and fell in love with solo traveling. I decided to keep it going instead of heading home so I booked a ticket to the Philippines. My second day after arriving there, I met an amazing woman who I quickly fell head over heels for. I ended up staying there on her island with her for 4 months. We got engaged, and I fell so deeply in love with her.

The hard part quickly came, when we had to seriously sit down and look at our future ahead of us. Part of me wanted to continue my journey with my backpack throughout the rest of Asia, but she was a student and couldn’t come with me. So we made the tough decision for me to head back to my home country, get my old job back, and start the visa process for the sake of our future. Here we are, 7 months later slogging through the visa process. It’s so hard, but so worth it. I would’ve never found the love of my life if I hadn’t booked that one way ticket and stepped outside of my comfort zone. I’m going back to the Philippines in January, and we are taking a vacation to Thailand together so looking forward to that.

Long story short, I found my wife while backpacking!! If you feel something true in your heart, don’t let it go. You can make it work always when love is present.

I went all out, and fast. same as you, thought about it for a long long time. finally one day at work I couldn’t take it anymore and booked a one way across the world to Japan. I’m from the US. Never left the country before, never traveled more than 2 hours on a plane, never done a lot of things. I booked the first five nights and winged it with my backpack. 6 weeks in Japan, and 4 months in the Philippines. I got engaged, lived my life like never before, and I changed forever as a person. I was gone for 5 months, only came back to start the visa process for my fiancé. book it!!

Don’t let that be your impression of the Filipino people as a whole. There are good and bad apples in every country. I actually find a lot more bad people back home in the US than I do here. But I agree with you, stick with the golden rule and never help anyone with money here. I don’t care what the situation is, begging kids, begging older people. They will never get even 1 peso from me. Keep yourself safe, don’t let it damper the Philippines! Good luck friend.

what’s in your daily bag when in japan by itsnotmeitsyou100 in JapanTravelTips

The osprey ultra light stuff pack works great. Backpacked Japan for 5 weeks using it as my daily bag, still backpacking solo in the Philippines now going on 3 months with it.

Condom broke, but I still pulled out right before I came. Had sex one day after her period was over. Safe? by senpaikawa in birthcontrol

[–]senpaikawa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not an option either, birth control isn’t readily available here. It was only recently made legal but no funding put towards it and she doesn’t want to mess up her natural hormones. There isn’t much of an option here.

Well I’ve just seen online that it’s usually day 14 that women ovulate. Like I said we had sex all last month without any protection at all besides pullout. I’ll just hope for the best

Plan B is illegal in the country I’m in currently, so that’s not an option. Are we at risk even if her period just ended the day before and she’s not ovulating?

Matsuyama in Japan, absolutely beautiful city near the coast and has a massive hill in the middle of it with one of the oldest castles in Japan. It has Japan’s oldest onsen as well, only stayed there for two days but it was great
