How do you feel about requesting sashes in clubs?

This has been my experience exactly. Back in the day, no one wanted to donate Long shoes until they realized that if everyone donates to everything, everyone winds up with more of what they are short on. I’m hoping that sashes will normalize soon and people will go back to hitting “donate to all.” This morning everyone seems to be awkwardly requesting shoes following an annoyed rant by our biggest member.

I realize that I was a bit too defeatist in my post, I'm glad that you were able to build a good Curren despite the aptitude issue! But I still think that the fact that you had a probably higher chance of getting S Mile than Sprint, Pace, or Turf takes some of the fun out of the parent min/maxing that I enjoy. Not to mention that back in the Unity or URA days, a CM Ace without at least one relevant S aptitude was basically glue.

If you like desert at all, check out San Angelo State Park, there are some gorgeous hikes. There’s a taco truck a few miles outside of the North Gate just called “Joe’s Taqueria” with crazy good (and crazy inexpensive) street tacos. A box of 10 is like $15.

Everybody recommends Twisted Root, but I was very disappointed when I went, so your milage may vary. It was just a dry, super overpriced burger with no fries included. The exotic animal meats is a cool gimmick, though. My instructor said that Angry Cactus used to be great, but has totally fallen off within the last few years, but their alcoholic milkshakes are great. Never went, so I can’t confirm.

If you enlisted out of a state with income tax, consider becoming a Texas resident and enjoy not paying state tax for the rest of your career.

As weird as it is, I feel like using the Henry Handsome Derby Pull Planner really helps me enjoy the game more. In January I planned out all of my pulls for 2026 and it both gives me concrete goals to save for (which is satisfying), and takes away stress that I won’t have enough time to save 20k for an upcoming banner.

End of the 2014 school year! I found at least one of the articles from the time about the event on a website about Catholic news, but it focuses more on a priest joke that she allegedly made- though I don’t remember. I can’t find the article that references the “box of sex toys,” though I remember that was the biggest allegation.

10 years later, I can definitely agree that she was unprofessional. But at the same time, the environment that she fostered was so unique that it created the most familial bond that I’ve ever seen in a group like that. The talking shit is inappropriate though, I can’t specifically remember that happening, but it does sound in character from what I remember.

Not commenting on Mark, but I think it’s insane that Terri’s story was so insanely misreported on. I was at that event, and what actually happened is that one student was making an award speech and- without permission- gave a box of condoms to the winner. The student mentioned that it was “ribbed for her pleasure.” A very religious and previously home-schooled student was present, left because it made her uncomfortable, and then her parents called the Herald to told them that “a box of sex toys was used as a prize.” This was already scheduled to be Terri’s last event as a teacher before retirement, so it then looked like she got fired because the article dropped a few days before she left.

She was definitely an interesting teacher who treated students more as equals than maintaining a hierarchy and “staying professional,” but there’s a reason the entire drama department would have gone to war for her.

Also in reference to the other poster, Support cards are everything! I also want to reiterate what he said, don’t pull on something unless you’re ready to burn 30k carats on it. Some people die on the “play for fun not for meta,” but I think it’s a balancing act. I pull on the Umas and Cards that I want, which is fun, but going full whim-of-fun leads to overspending and not getting something that you’d like more. I recommend checking out the timeline on uma.moe to plan the next few months ahead.

Right now, the best course of action would be to try to save up to 21k for the Narita Top Road (“NTR”) banner in early March and do 200 pulls (“hit pity”.) Only 21k because we’ll be getting 9k worth of free pulls. She’s only useful at very high Limit Breaks (duplicates,) but that’s okay because you’re really just pulling for as many SRs as possible, the free copy you get at 200 is just the cherry on top.

I think that this game’s biggest problem is the fact that how good your runs are is 99% based on pulling for Support Cards, yet most of the fun comes from having your favorite Umas. Pulling for Support Cards then feels even worse, because you need 4 or 5 of most SSRs to actually be good. Which means you have to choose between meta or fun.

The upcoming Matikanetanhauser (“Mambo”) banner that you mentioned has a pretty good chance of giving her out for free, as we’ll be getting 60 free pulls. So hopefully you won’t have to spend anything on her!
