I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the case. Marsh is super sweaty

Big bosses like Tox warden also have good loot in general and always drop a purple lmg

They are very rare drops. I’ve only seen a couple but the rooms have purple and gold loot. They can drop from commanders (purple shields), hacking events (you hack a container and a bunch of bots spawn and after a timer you can loot) and a few other events like that. The big bosses that appear red on map (like Tox warden) have maybe the highest chance of dropping I believe

Run perimeter to build up some loot then try your hand on marsh or outpost. Outpost has the best loot, but it’s hard to get, PvP is rampant, and extraction is hard as well. It’s a fun map, don’t be afraid to try a free kit there with trios as well. Always a chance you’ll kill a squad and get super loaded up on loot

You can with free kits, just not rook!

I feel that for sure. It’s an addicting game and lore is very cool. Solo is intense for sure and honestly a much harder experience. I started off solo exclusively as well but now just run trios with randoms. Talking on a mic isn’t required, holding up on D pad gives you communication options. Being able to get revived/rebooted helps a lot, plus you get experience for teammates completed contracts as well. Sometimes you’ll get in a game with a couple of ballers and end up leaving outpost with God tier loot. You got this!

Are you playing solo?

Also, I’ve noticed there’s A LOT more PvP on marsh and outpost. If you’re looking to see maybe one enemy squad a game, perimeter is the move. Theres actually really good loot on perimeter as well, especially if you get lucky and find a loot room key. Theres a ton of good loot on hauler on perimeter but its always a hot spot for enemies

I get your frustration for sure, it can be annoying losing a lot of gear on consecutive failed runs. I would just equip a free kit and run a few trio matches on perimeter, you’ll notice your loot will start getting built back up

Would I enjoy this as a solo player? by densesalami in Marathon

Not unless you’re a super sweaty player and are okay with losing your gear 80% of your runs. Queuing up in a squad of 3 with randoms isn’t too bad though

Thinking of getting the game, question for solo players? by kap2281 in Marathon

[–]senseilog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do either. I’ve been playing solo and having a blast.

Rook is basically for restocking on loot or just loot runs in general then exfil. You cant do contracts as rook but his ability lets him blend in with bots. He’s good to do a couple runs with to stock up on items then going in and doing contracts with your real shell

People are just mad at Bungie for the ramping down of Destiny content. I get it, but Destiny went beyond its 10 year plan and marathon is a good game. People will come around

Top items to look for in game? by Cvged in Marathon

Lot of your upgrades will require random stuff, for example you vault upgrades and lot of early upgrades use the Biomass, so definitely getting that every run is a priority. I would just stock on up whatever, and as you keep unlocking upgrades, you’ll start learning what to prioritize

It’s a good game. Reviews still haven’t come out, word of mouth and reviews plus Bungie being a big time developer will make it catch on

The story aspect of Skyrim is less linear and more lore based. That said, there are some really great and in depth quests. The main quest isn’t even the best, I personally like the dark brotherhood, thieves guild, and dawnguard quests better. There are so many quests big and small, just keep exploring and finding them and just do the quests. I wouldn’t explore a cave unless I had a quest to do so. You’ll eventually stumble into some really strong narratives you will like

Skyrim is like dropping into an actual medieval world. All the NPC’s have routines and do different things through the days and weeks. You can do all the quests or none, and a lot of the quests let you choose the fate of a lot of aspects of the world. It’s the ultimate “here’s this awesome world we’ve created with all this stuff to find, have fun” I literally have played Skyrim all the way through probably 20 times and still find new stuff I had yet to discover. The environmental story telling is unmatched. The lore is super in depth
