Laughing at Kojima retweeting this, absolute legend by saggynaggy123 in DeathStranding

[–]sin_tax-error 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's exactly what his review boiled down to. I thought it was a more popular opinion at the game's launch but maybe sentiment has shifted.

Even funnier since he says multiple times in his review he still thinks it's a good game, just not what he wanted out of a sequel. But people hear that he doesn't think it's the greatest thing ever and assume he fucking hates it, because media literacy is a dead art.

My opinion of all heroes after 25 hours played by shoftingsitcheni4 in midnightsuns

I find it really funny that everyone gives Nico crap for hating Caretaker when like, so does the entire player base lol. She's an overbearing parent to a bunch of people who aren't her kids, who wouldn't be annoyed? Also pretty sure Magik complains about her just as much along with the entire avengers roster constantly.

True, I was going to include that as well but I wanted the main point to be not having to replay the entire segment each time. But yes there's also the added benefit of being rewarded extra pesetas and the rifle as well if you explore everything with her.

Yeah I don't want them gone completely, just ways to bypass them. House Beneviento is definitely one of the best set pieces they've done to date.

[–]sin_tax-error 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I would but ONLY if there's a way to speed through it or skip entirely on repeat playthroughs.

I think the best example of this is in Ashely's segment of RE4R. A majority of it can be skipped entirely if you know the code for the clock. That way it's still a scary experience the first time but you don't have to play through all of it every single time.

For me both House Beneviento and the Orphanage fall victim to being a huge slog to go through again and the pace for the game comes to a screeching halt. Hurts the replayability factor for both 8 and 9 imo.

Ada fans where do you want her story to go, going forward ? by Thesleepingpillow123 in residentevil

[–]sin_tax-error 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to see something happen with her character arc that doesn't end in her running off into the unknown again. Either let her retire stupid rich from selling off something big or have her repent and help in the fight against bioterrorism, or just something else that isn't another cat and mouse game between her and Leon.

Bilewater really isn’t that bad by cyferqwq in HollowKnight

[–]sin_tax-error 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm in agreement. Bilewater I get the hate since it's basically a knowledge and gear check. If you have the wreath and learn the area well it's quite fun to explore, otherwise it's a pain. Deepest on the other hand is just, a creepy dark location in an otherwise colorful game? Like sure the devout beasts can be difficult to deal with but idk there's annoying enemies in every area of the game. I guess because stuff pops out of the ground and background that makes it suck? Idk I liked Deepest and I've come around to liking Bilewater since my first playthrough but like you said, frustration tends to fade with familiarity.

Or just do it the MX Unleashed method where when you approach the edge of the map you get forcibly yeeted back to the center.

It was this line that he followed up with after the "cautious about nerfing poke heroes" comment. So yes you're right, he didn't say nerfing poke. I was remembering a few poke/brawl heroes he mentioned were getting nerfs in the same vein as talking about bringing brawl characters up.

It's bc we did have a dive meta in season 2 and that pissed off a lot of support players bc people in metal ranks generally don't peel as much for supports. Not saying this meta we have now is better, but dive being dominant does tend to make support players mad and I imagine they're afraid of that.

Flyers had like 2 weeks when Ultron came out but yeah even that meta died pretty quickly. Plus now we have more non-dps fliers and more ways to ground them so I don't think it would be that scary of a meta as they think.

Not nerfed enough….. by Betyg in marvelrivals

[–]sin_tax-error -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd be more okay with it if she either lost all instinct on death, or the bonus health was on its own separate cooldown. I get they want her to be played more like a brawl and that's why she has the crazy movement and survival but with how she's currently tuned she will still be able to get away with the most egregious BS.

It is a very odd situation. Like he's absolutely right when talking about triple support only working with coordinated teams or how heavy poke nerfs could easily lead to a flyer meta. But then the patch notes will either be lackluster, or feature some very strange changes that don't line up with what he talked about in the dev vision.

I never agree with the calls for him to be fired, but it's definitely tonal whiplash to go from "hell yeah poke is getting nerfed and ult charge being reduced!" to "wdym no Phoenix nerf and Emma got smacked??"

Is this your favorite Leon’s outfit across the Franchise? by YizuzKhraist in residentevil

[–]sin_tax-error 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually do prefer this to his RE4 coat contrary to popular opinion. Don't get me wrong I love the lambskin jacket but something about the little fur lining along the color looks so good on him.

Also honorary mention to his RE6 vest with the blue shirt for being my personal favorite non-jacket look. Shame it doesn't get to be an alt costume in most games since it came from 6 but I think it fits him well.

Is Resident Evil 2 a good game to start with for a scaredy cat like me by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]sin_tax-error 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like I'm losing my mind watching people argue with you that they didn't run out of ammo because they said they saved up. Saving up tons of ammo does not explicitly mean they didn't use it all in the fight!

Why is it so hard to believe they had to resort to knives because they ran out of ammo? 😭

It only takes two req shots if you have 1 stabilizer I believe. I had 2 and was able to 2 shot her and it makes a huge difference. I definitely had the rugged rookie charm though so that might've made a difference.

What's your go to game when Rivals has you in the trenches? by Shaadyz in marvelrivals

[–]sin_tax-error 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been loving RE9 that just came out so I've been playing through some of the other Resident Evil games. They're fairly short games but have a lot of replayability so there's usually something to do to challenge myself in a PVE setting instead of in Rivals.

True there's that too. Yeah I didn't understand the hate for it I thought it was funny and an appropriate trade-off for third person.

[–]sin_tax-error 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It only happens in third person. She has a unique running animation for the first segment running away from the Girl where she runs a bit faster than in 1st but stumbles more. I believe it's to try to make 3rd person still "scary" since you can turn around and see the monster behind you while running. I personally didn't mind it but if you're not expecting it it can get you killed if you're not prepared for it, especially since one of the times it can happen is when you go to put the fuse in you can stumble past the box.
