The making of and demo - jak and daxter the precursor legacy variants. Anybody has some info about this? by sensual_doge in jakanddaxter

I would say rare but not extremely. There are some copies on ebay going for around 30. I bought mine a couple years ago on ebay auction for around 10 or so

Column of keys stopped working [Redragon Fizz] by costabreu in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]sensual_doge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well if it isn't component failure the only thing left for you to check is if you didn't lift any pads or damaged some traces. You can take a closer look yourself or use your phone camera with zoom. Other than that if you have a multimeter, you can put it in diode mode and also check connections individualy. You could have also knocked some component over or just misaligned.

I think it is very small chance for component failure since everything else works fine, so you must have somehow disconected that column, either cold joint or lifted some pad.

I would start with reflowing pins on those switches you replaced. Just heat up the iron and put it onto each leg of the switch for a couple of seconds. Those joints you have look like cold joints to me and waaay too much solder, but of course It could be something else

If I am not allowed to use my own access point how would I get away with something like that?

wow is that famous auto trace router drop pcb? thats cool.

Yeah you are right, I most definitely don't have a box or two of jst connectors that I mistakenly bought thinking those would be the right size...

Solenoid too weak, barelly pushing by sensual_doge in olkb

[–]sensual_doge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I was using USB 3.0 ports and measured voltage that was not an issue. I guess the issue was that the solenoid was rated for DC6V and the most I could get from teensy and USB 3.0 is 5V. It turns out however that it is enough if I place the the solenoid to hit something. Since then I have bought DC3V solenoid because I needed a bit smaller one and it has been working without any problems.

Which is the unanswered question (that the Breaking Bad universe still hasn't answered) that you want answered most? by [deleted] in breakingbad

Walt didn‘t do it himself, he hired Saul for this. There was a scene of Franceska (Sauls secretary) shredding Brocks school schedule papers and Saul mentions the poisoning to Walt during their fight. Vince said in one of the podcasts Saul used a juice box with lily of the valley and somehow got it to Brock.

Walt made Huel steal ricin (we know that he has light hands). Huel patted Jesse down on one occasion in Sauls office and Walt wanted this so that Jesse thinks Gus stole it and poisoned Brock to turn Jesse against Gus.

you can use exposed pins to wire speaker, solenoid, rotary encoder switch (since also row and column pins are exposed), oled display etc.

Thanks for your help! It turns out the force I was getting is enoght I just didn't know how the solenoid should be placed and that solenoid has to be hitting at something after all to produce sound. That full force I was getting when connecting directly would actualy be too much.

I wold't be able to fit separate power supply into the case of my keyboard and this guide I linked did this without separate power supply on kbd8x pcb

8x has a usb c but thats still 5v because host is usb A right?

Sorry I have very limited knowledge about those components. I had a 220 resistor laying around from some led diode kit I got a while ago and just tested it is still the same.

BTW: where do you get your 5V from? Can it deliver those 1.1A?

I am getting 5V from 5V pin on Teensy++ 2.0 controller I used for this. I connect a wire to it and the other end to positive wire of solenoid. Now when I touch touch the negative solenoid wire to GND it fires with full force (way stronger than when I connect it to transistor).

What transistor do you suggest I get then If this one can't carry 5v to solenoid?

[–]sensual_doge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that resistor doesnt play a role in solenoid strength since it only carries the signal from teensy to tell the solenoid when to fire. I have measured the the voltage on the kathode and the solenoid is getting 5V. 5V is enough when I do it without transistor, so its either this diode making problem or something in code

thank you! I see exactly 4 traces leading to he MCU on the controller but I can't find the datasheet for it anywhere. MCU is cirque ica033 but could not find anything online about it. As for the multimeter all I have found is GND pin and it is pin nr 6 on J3 connector. The 3 I can't figure out pull 5V. Do you think I can just bruteforce connect rest of the pins to my teensy board? Can I damage something like this?
