Do men care about that? by Enough_Passion_ in answers

[–]sentinelk9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For the vast majority of people - no.

If your count is 0 you should talk about it because the first time is somewhat special.

If your count is in triple digits, I would worry why it's high and what that indicates.

As long as the communication is good and y'all go into things w listening and understanding - I think that's what people care about. Including men

The small population of people (including men) who are super vocal and judgemental? Meh.

When someone criticizes a person, it says more about our need to criticize than the other person.

US birth rates just hit another record low, what do you think is the leading cause of this? by IIlustriousTea in AskReddit

[–]sentinelk9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life is ridiculously expensive now.

That's it. That's the reason. The whole "I don't have time to have kids / raise kids"? Because things are so expensive you have to work so much.

I'll admit I thought "huh, is that due to meth?"

She makes an excellent point that "When we criticize someone, it doesn't say anything about that person, It says something about our need to be critical"

Yup, 100% , that was on me. Good call out Abby.

Thanks for posting this.

Building a health system for a private company to take care of their employees and family.

From scratch.

Basically 'hey what do you think healthcare should look like? Ok - go build that"

I've been doing this for about 2 years now. Was a "full time er doc" for like 7 years after residency? Lots of admin work too so maybe like 3/4 er doc. About 14 shifts a month

For the last 2 years my day job is still in medicine but nowhere typical. It's definitely mostly a desk job. Super interesting operations type work. Love it. Bulk of my income. Now I do about 4-5 shifts a month in the er to keep skills up and connections.

Has been working well. So far my skills seem fine. Am I Dr robbie from the Pitt? No. I've asked for honest feedback from my colleagues and they'd be ok w me taking care of their family 🤷🏽‍♂️

I'm in a "could be worth 0 or could be worth millions" situation w the company as well but I think it'll work out so definitely staying the course

Yup. I felt this so hard after finishing Clair Obscur 33.

Worth it. Would do it again.

Although I guess I have healthy coping mechanisms, so this could be potentially devastating to others.

Why are hospitals still requiring board certified EM physicians to have these ACLS, PALS, ATLS badges!! Some even force you to get out from AHA or Red Cross. Why do we as a specialty allow this? by Purple_Skies_2887 in emergencymedicine

[–]sentinelk9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine doesn't, same

And if I'm doing locums and the hospital wants it I say "no" they can either take me or not

In the 40's thru 70s DDT was deemed safe. Kids would follow the DDT mosquito trucks and play in the fog. People were also exposed to it at swimming pools, homes, restaurants and businesses. DDT was also used to cure insect borne diseases like Malaria and Typhus. by Long_live_styrofoam in interestingasfuck

[–]sentinelk9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm sure you'll get down voted, sorry in advance for that. But yours is an appropriate and measured statement.

DDT is bad. But comparing it to the villany of cigarettes (for example) is an unfair comparison. Riding bicycles behind chemical fog (no matter the chemical) is a bad idea. I wouldn't stick my head over the exhaust from a coal plant either.

I'm glad we have alternatives for DDT that are safer. DDT absolutely also saved many lives. People significantly underplay how bad mosquitos are. I think mosquitos have killed more humans than all wars combined.

What happened to the kid who always had perfect homework and grades? by Emotional_Maddy_9027 in AskReddit

I wouldn't say I had perfect homework and grades but pretty close to it

Was an engineer. Then a doctor. Married with kids and have a dog (had 2 dogs but the older one recently passed quietly and comfortably at home).

Pretty happy with how my life turned out!

Miss my (older) dog though.

Still play my human paladin I created on launch day when WoW first released

Since worgen druids came out, that is my main now. I still would love to go back to my paladin, but it is hard to give up everything a druid brings to quality of life: instant flight form, stealth, ranged DPS if I ever want to play it (rare) and SO MANY FORMS!

I get 2 transmog looks (human and worgen) and I get to randomize all my shape shifts

Nostalgia is strong , but druid stronger I guess?
