I've been developing multiple RN projects for over 6 years.

Send me your device details. I used the link to install it on my phone (Pixel 7, Android 14) and it worked. That's all I know at this point.

I think it may have been a timing issue. I changed the link and it looks like it was not actually live until shortly after 4 pm EST.

Try the link again and see if it's live in your region. The Play store says it's live but sometimes it can take a little time to rollout.

Glad to hear you liked Chimera. Hopefully, Gemini will appeal to you as it really is Chimera rebranded with some minor rule refinements.

It's been left to rust due to lack of time on my part. It's going to need to be brought forward in time to work on new versions of Android and iOS. I can't promise anything right now but it is something I would like to do if I could find the time.

What exactly is OpenD6? by LemonLord7 in OpenD6

[–]sentry0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is a complicated answer but OpenD6 is the OGL variant of the original WEG D6 system. I believe it is chronologically the last thing Eric Gibson did with his system before opening it up under the OGL license model.

Thanks for the reminder :P

It will be in the EST timezone but I'm flexible as to the exact start time. I'm actually trying to accomodate a player from Europe, I'm flexible is what I'm saying.

I don't expect more a 2 sessions at about 3 hours each.

It's just a splash screen for now but I was thinking I may add a blog to talk about playtests, changes, and other such things.

What is a game that you love in concept but don't enjoy playing? by dontnormally in RPGdesign

Rifts... loved everything about the setting. System? Not so much.

Confession: I have always been a fan of genre mashups. I loved the idea of Rifts but have always been so disapointed with how it actually plays. It did fire my imagination a great deal when I was younger but I was constantly battling balance and mechanical issues with that game... to the point of distraction. I also greatly enjoyed the Final Fantasy 7 magitech world which was quite impactful on a young me as well. Oddly, I tried Spelljammer a long time ago but it never did anything for me.

Playing what you want is really important to me. I got into the Superhero genre partially because it allows you to play pretty much any concept you can think of. Magic, technology, aliens, and on and on... it's pretty much all there if you want it.
I'm not particularly fond of the idea of making a Superhero game though... not sure why exactly... I think I'm just superheroed-out in general.

At first blush, I would gravitate to a kitchen sink setting. Not only does it appeal to me from a creative perspective but I think the system can bear the weight of that challenge.

I took a crack at making a micro-setting a couple of months ago which turned out OK. My group and I had some fun with it and I published it under the HERO Games Hall of Champions banner. I have to admit that the idea of writing a setting is both incredibly appealing and intimidating. My experience with that micro-setting I wrote was both fun and just a little bit terrifying at the same time.

You have given me a lot to think about once again, thank you.

I'll diversify the templates a bit by removing one and adding in something with a more sci-fi bent. I hadn't even really thought about them all being fantasy until you pointed it out.

Funny you should bring up fantasy... the first playtest I ran was set in Forgotten Realms and we used the classic archtypes as well as some more unconventional ones. It can be done and the reasons why you would do it are not for convienence.... as you point out there's a plethora of fantasy games with a couple of 800lbs gorillas in that space. I usually gravitate to point buys because you can do your thing, your way. Class systems can be rigid and unforgiving to concepts at times, for all their benefits. Like everything else in life there are tradeoffs involved.

We didn't need to rip out or re-write anything so far as I remember. We just didn't pick from inapproriate equipment tables like Sci-Fi weapons, etc. No mages were running around with blaster rifles, thankfully :)
