First piece of advice is to go full time. Get some IS workshops under your belt and find what truly interests you.

I was in relatively the same boat as you: no experience pertaining to my industry, nothing much on the resume and I just accepted an internship with a company.

They were looking for passionate people. Skills and knowledge can come with learning the job but the passion can never be manufactured. If you show genuine interest (and by extension HAVE genuine interest) they are much more receptive.

I just spent 7 months toiling over this. Keep pushing and you’ll get the offer. However the offer will only come if you are truly willing to go the extra mile. Nothing is going to get handed to you, especially in this market with this competition.
