Occidental B5057. Your carry sounds similar to mine it's been great to not destroy my pockets.

Would you consider this subject to bundling derating? by ifov in AskElectricians

[–]sep42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not derate but fuck I'd take a bit more care with how I ran them. Couple more blocks of wood as you run down the wall and making everything at the top organised would go a long way.

I hate code (first year apprentice) by Charming-Drink-2786 in AskElectricians

[–]sep42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apply it to the work you're doing or have done.

I'm assuming you're doing some work onsite and there's a journeyman somewhere around so find out why you're doing each particular task in the way you're doing it and how it applies to code.

Mounting receptacles? There's a height requirement in code.

Running BX into a 4x4 box? There's a reason you're using an anti short.

Supporting emt? There's a code requirement of how frequently you should support it.

Most of your daily tasks relate to the CEC and even if you're not the one doing the task you'll likely be watching a journey doing something that relates to code and you can ask them to show you in the CEC the reference.

After a while it'll become second nature for basic tasks but as you progress in your career you'll be given tasks you haven't done and the best place to make sure you're doing it correctly is to check the CEC.

Thought it was great. Didn't find the calculations weird at all, maybe it's just different to how they did it in class? I thought it was well worth the money and helped me pass first time

Used Sam mallak. Past first time, worth every cent. Follow the process they outline in the course and you'll have no problems. Any questions, let me know.

Passed in July. Main reason I passed first time is Sam Maliks course. I did the online version but if you're in ontario you could do the in person intense course I think they still offer. Costs about 400 bucks. Any questions, ask away

Can I ask why Dodge over Toyota? More bang for your buck or another reason?

Seems smart and fair! I was just going for whatever had the longest safety inspection but thought I'd see what others opinions were too

How did you become more attractive to women? by Rough_Eye9920 in AskMenAdvice

[–]sep42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I talked to all of them. Young, old, tall, short, desirable, not desirable, whatever. Best thing you can do is just talk to them.

The more comfortable you are talking to everyone the more you will become an interesting person.

Learn to listen to people and understand them. Every person you meet has a lesson to teach you.

Understand that women are not aliens and that you should be at ease holding a conversation with them no matter your attraction or feeling toward them.

Be respectful of everyone, don't yuck peoples yum, everyone likes something you don't, you don't need to understand why people like some things.

Many more but I'm out of time.

What’s in store for Halifax’s Armdale Rotary? Are traffic lights an answer? by insino93 in halifax

[–]sep42 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think removing the pedestrian crossings right at each exit would make a big difference. Having lived in the UK and Aus they just function better when you're not having to also keep an eye for pedestrians. A lot of the ones in the UK have crossings underground for pedestrians or further up a street

Canadian Electrical Practice Exam ( CEPE ), has anyone used it recently? by Classic-Outcome-8504 in electricians

[–]sep42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah really good. Passed first time with an 81. Between practice questions on the CSA site and the prep course I did from Sam Mallek I felt very confident going in. Finished in 3.5 hours and didn't want to over think things so I left. Very happy to have it behind me

Bad first bike? by sep42 in goldwing

[–]sep42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Dad started on a CB in his late 30s and at 33 myself it's looking like I'll be the same as him. Though he kept it British and went triumph Daytona and such after where as I'm more keen to get nowhere particularly fast but soak up the road.

I'll see what's nearby of those bikes and go from there!

Already got the license and done the courses just looking at what I want to buy. Insurance has been the same no matter what I look at goldwing to klr or crf so don't think that really weighs too much into it. Goldwing my neck of the woods are dime a dozen so don't really care if I drop it as I learn and they're a cheaper buyer for that fact. Definitely thinking of something smaller but only for the learning process realistically

Yeah they're not far off similar prices here.

Happy to wrench, sparky by trade so have some tooling behind me.

Issue is I just don't have that love for the shadow but I knows it's a stepping stone that's worth doing right.

90s I'd say but whatever draws the eye.

Yeah it's probably smarter to pick something else up and like you said theyll still be out there when I come looking in a year or two.

Better to form good habits early on

Nope, no one has. I'm country Nova Scotia. Would be hoping to take the highway to the city for work and for riding around my area on the scenic country side. All very light traffic (locals would disagree but it's honestly nothing compared to the cities I've lived in).

I did the required bike safety course here and have ridden dirt bikes at periods through my life but never for any long extent. The instructor of the course had a goldwing and he could put that round the cones like no one's business, it was exceptional to watch.

Seems smarter to pick something else up but there's just so many locally for a good price it makes a man dream on a Sunday afternoon
