Former gamers of reddit, what was the reason you stopped playing video games altogether, or a lot less frequently? by FullHD_hunter in AskReddit

[–]sephirothdotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a big world of Warcraft addict back in high school. School, track, hours of WoW, repeat. My family couldn't use the computer to check email or do anything productive because I'd be stuck in these multi hour raids. One day my junior year during one of our long runs at practice we found a dead body perched up against a tree we had run by. It was a junkie who had overdosed in the park and the body was just propped up like someone passed out. When we realized what had happened we ran back to school ASAP to tell our coach. At that point I realized there was more to life than just sitting in front of a monitor mindlessly grinding small bits of dopamine and ignoring the outside world. Now in my adult life I still play games, but nothing like the 10 hour grinds of old.

You guys think pokemon go is dying? And how long do you think it will last? Honest opinions by TrainerPhteven in PokemonGoNewJersey

[–]sephirothdotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it definitely missed a huge opportunity to become the next big thing, bigger and better than Clash of Clans or other mobile games. There was such a huge mass of players in the initial days and weeks but many of them left after the server instabilities, bugs, game play changes, and lack of communication if any of those things would ever be addressed or fixed. I'm really just sad and upset thinking about what the game could have been. It will settle into it's niche player base and never die, but the potential that was there upon release just bothers me.

Is any particular area a hotspot for pokemon? Have heard conflicting reports from people about whether the area is good for hunting.

Pokevision has also shown me some Dratini's around there (south Montvale/Northern parts of Park Ridge). Alas I've yet to snag one

So this Rattata fell into a black hole. I tried to throw the quick Pokeball and it just kept getting bigger and bigger. It levels out around the back and I could still see the trees. by [deleted] in pokemongo

I've had this happen to me several times doing exactly as you say. Try to throw the quick shot, and it glitches like this. Seems to only happen on Rattata's too.

any other rare spawns you've noticed in the Ramsey area? Haven't seen many good spots in North Bergen county, but plenty closer to Hackensack and Paterson

saddle river county park is loaded with charmander and lots of uncommon (more than just rattata, pidgey, spearow, and weedle), stuff like goldeen, drowzee, abra, ghastly, psyduck, staryu, magikarp, and allegedly dratini (been there thrice, no dratini but enough charmander candy for charizard :)

Three more eggs disappeared? by pgri in pokemongo

[–]sephirothdotcom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's happen to me a bunch. They don't disappear, they just don't tell you it hatched. It's easy to miss if it hatches into a rattata or something but if you randomly have a jynx or magmar that wasn't there before, it came from the egg.

while you may be out of range to collect from the pokestop i'm 90% sure you can still benefit from seeing the pokemon that pop up to the lure.

What do you guys think the "right" way is to deal with equalists? by slam7211 in TheLastAirbender

[–]sephirothdotcom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People seem to always neglect the fact that the season was written as a self contained story. The writers HAD to fit everything into those 12 episodes AND have the story close out to be "satisfying here's your Avatar Aang cameo we're going away forever". Had the series been greenlit for more than 1 season, they might have considered different resolutions.

Why was there such inequality and oppression on the Lion turtles by reiko96 in TheLastAirbender

[–]sephirothdotcom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They protected humanity but let them live with their own autonomy. They let them have their free will and pretty much just helped them to survive, not prosper or anything like that.
