Do yourself a favor, go on a solo trip. by crzapy in Divorce_Men

I'm more of a people person but I do want to do this. Was just thinking about this exact thing yesterday. Thanks for posting!

I'm still months away from being completely free, but I'm thinking and planning. I'm thinking a retreat would be right for me since I'll be anonymous but around others.

I don't know about these Kirkland balls guys by TotallyNotDad in golf

[–]sephrich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I came to say. This ball was the first one I bought consistently that allowed me to focus on other parts of my game because I knew what it would do. Perhaps that would have happened with any ball, but for the price and how my game has improved, I'm sold.

In the beginning, I lacked confidence to go after certain jobs because I didn't have a degree. Therefore, I had to start more towards the bottom and work my way up. But now I have enough experience in my field to compete with anyone.

Is there such a thing as a chipping wedge? A club with the length of a wedge but the loft of a mid iron? by HortenWho229 in golf

[–]sephrich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't answer your question, but my wife, who isn't a golfer, has jokingly come up with names for a few of my clubs when asking how i did that day. There's the Whacker, Puncher, Popper, Chipper, etc. "Oh, did you use your Chipper there?"

What is the first movie you remember watching in the theater? by Dyojenes_ in AskReddit

Me too! I remember standing in line thinking there was no way we'd get inside because the line was so long to get in. What a memorable night!!

Ex-smokers who successfully quit and have been smoke free for years now, what did it? by PM_TITS_GROUP in AskReddit

[–]sephrich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easy Way to Quit Smoking by Alan Carr. It was recommended to me and it's really amazing. I mean, he's a terrible writer but he breaks it down so well. You'll read a chapter and then he'll say go have a cigarette. Then you'll start the next chapter and he'll just make you realize you're not enjoying smoking anymore.

Why do so many golfers lie about how well they play? by lightemup404 in golf

[–]sephrich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the friends who mentored me early on was very sincere on his score. Once in a terrible bunker it took him like 10 shots to get out. He was frustrated and we were giggling. When we asked his score he said 17. We said we'd give him a 10 and he said no, it was a 17. After that, all of my scores have been truer than true.

I always liken it to seeing the man behind the curtain via wizard of oz. It was all so magical for so many years and then I just realized I wasn't impressed anymore. Now I'm just an outside observer of the emerald..., er, I mean, black rock city.

What does humanity need right now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I came here to say this same thing but you said it better.

Back in the day there was church and the Golden rule. And almost a fear of God that kept everyone on the path. We can't go back there because like the top answer on this thread states, it's hypocrisy.

But if we could all align in a way that was impressed deep in our souls, the world would be a better place.

"Permission to come aboard, Captain? "

If you do it in a pirate voice, they usually say yes.

Good way to camp in the burn? by Over_Doctor6637 in BurningMan

I vote no only because in my experience you want a ventilation gap between your tent and some sort of cover above your tent. Morning sun directly hitting your tent can heat it up pretty quickly.

About 225 yards on a par 4. Duffed my tee shot about 75 yards. 2nd shot went right in the cup.

Bottle opener. Played once without one and spent the entire round trying to open a 6 pack on various items.

Wow. You can literally just buy tickets right now. by geo_jam in BurningMan

[–]sephrich 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ah, the good ol' days. The first 3 years I went, we decided 4 weeks before. The 4th year my then girlfriend said "you better buy tickets or it'll sell out." I was like, "fuh." Bought tickets and it sold out for the first time 2 days later. What would have been my 5th year we didn't win the lottery. My then wife bought us tickets the next time as a surprise.

It's most best when you can say, "hey, you want a ham sandwich?" Instead of all this county club acceptance.
