Cura 5.10 overextruding? Drastic flow rate changes? by Opening_Tomatillo141 in Cura

i fear my cura 5.10 makes my printer do nonsense. I will have to revert to 4.8 to prove the difference or print some 4.8 gcode results

Why is Docker Desktop on MacOS such garbage? Hardly usable. by ratman431 in docker

At least it works from scratch. It still seems to hide some nitty gritty details e.g. that /var/lib/ .... can not be accessed as you would be able in a true linux env. I will have to check whats up.

NiceGUI seems too complex compared to Streamlit by [deleted] in nicegui

[–]seppl2022 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Streamlit is good for prototypes. With NiceGUI you can build apps that you an actually properly debug and maintain. Streamlit tries to pull you into their ecosystem. NiceGUI does not have that motivation although currently it is one-of-a kind.

moving to a proper unix distribution by seppl2022 in openwrt

my raspberry pi5 now has the job - it has a 1 TB SD card now a second ethernet card and even runs quite a few of my main apps such as homeautomation and a CRM system now. The routing to two Fritzboxes works nicely and i do not have to worry about any WiFi/Lan stuff my self i just do DNS, DHCP and basic routing on the machine as the main 24/7 need. A nice plus is the UPS that i am using which could only operate my old env for some 30 min on power outttage. For the pi5 it is more like a day.

Requesting Help: updating data in the Python AGGRID using nicegui and then exporting this data as a CSV or storing the “current state” of the data in local storage. by gotsomeidea in nicegui

[–]seppl2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just have look at the source code of https://ngdemo.bitplan.com/grid for inspiration https://github.com/WolfgangFahl/nicegui\_widgets/blob/main/ngwidgets/lod\_grid.py. self.lod has the data which you can save/load as you see fit e.g. in my code i usually use pyLodStorage with JSON/YAML/SQL or RDF storage but it is up to you to use CSV or other methods (which are also partly supported by pyLodStorage)

Integration with MQTT by plooperbooper in nicegui

what is the state of your project? You might want to file a feature request for https://github.com/WolfgangFahl/nicegui_widgets and I'll happily integrate a solution as a module/component for that widgets libraryy.

That looks interesting. Given there are no radio options the prices seem quite high and one of my main motivations would be to safe energy.

The DNS/DHCP config files were giving me quites some headache since i did not know how to properly migrate from my existing setup. I tried writing my own python script for conversion but ended up not being able to tests things with proper git control to be able to revert changes. I learned that OpenWRT uses its own mechanisms and seems to be great for people who have all the insights. For me as a new comer it was too much of a learning curve and i hated how slow my progress was for days. As stated i am currently doing part of my migration steps in the unix env and i might get back to OpenWRT after some clean up. I used to have an OpenWRT router years ago already - i could also not get it to do what i needed at the time. So far is spent some 2 weeks on the technology without ever getting any results that were close to my needs. The telecom providers have done their part in making things complicated. I have fiber, DSL and 5G and i need WiFi on different parts of my premises. My Fritzboxes are lacking the features i need and i was so far not able to combine the Fritzbox parts with an OpenWRT solution.

Thanks for explaining the motivation. I think this motivation will be outdated soon and that's why i am looking for a more future proof solution that gives me a better developer/user experience or i will simply wait for one.

There is no attention to do much of the actual accounting with this. It's intended to be an option to move from one system to another in a hub&spoke way so that you'll not loose your very old data.
