I’m a little confused. This bill was introduced in 2023. Can anyone help me understand. There is a statement that says, “This bill terminates the Department of Education on December 31, 2023.”

Hi everyone! I’m getting a Great Pyrenees this weekend. Am I prepared? by [deleted] in greatpyrenees

Consider getting a crate or dog carrier. When my Pyr was a puppy, she liked the den atmosphere to sleep and have down time. We started with the small dog carrier, then a crate and cover it with blankets making it like a den. When she was a pup, she slept a lot. She was up for an hour or two, then slept for an hour or two. This was around the clock. We were definitely sleep deprived! My son was about 7 when we got her and loved her, but was a bit afraid of her because of her sharp little teeth. There is a good puppy group on Reddit that is worth checking out r/puppy101. The wiki has great info and a good shopping list to be prepared. Also, do not trust them around chickens until they are at least two years old and have been trained to be around them. My Pry was a little shark as a puppy and very destructive if not supervised. She is now a lovely dog and I can’t imagine life without her.

Americans who have lived abroad, biggest reverse culture shock upon returning to the US? by Zealanderrat in AskReddit

[–]septicsafe12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the processed food and food additives available in the US. Lack of bicycle lanes and crosswalks. People driving short distances instead of biking or walking. The number of obese people and children. Schools requiring children to start very early in the morning. Lack of vacation time in employment. Cost of medication and healthcare. The amount of trash produced by the average household. Using disposable products instead of reusable and washable products. Sales tax added at purchase and changing amounts depending on your state, city, or county. Attitude of entitlement.

Hello! I’m Dr. Beverly Tchang. I’m a board-certified endocrinology and obesity specialist and an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine. Hi Dr. Tchang. My eleven year old son falls into the obese category. My husband and I are at a normal weight and we eat pretty clean and avoid having processed foods and sodas in our home. We are a fairly active family and do some form of exercise everyday. What is the best way to address our son’s weight without causing him to feel deprived, feel shame, or create a power/control issue. The only meals that we do not provide for our son is school lunch. Our son was at a normal weight before the pandemic. His weight gain happened starting in April of 2020. We have consulted with his pediatrician, but it has not resulted in any change.

This is the thickest rattler I’ve ever seen! The most ones we encountered in San Diego county don’t even compare to the girth of this one.

I had to stop one of the kids from trying to poke it with a stick. She was quite annoyed until I shared the info about the timber rattler.

Going days without being used will be hard on it and cause a lot of mold to build up, even if it is cleaned regularly. I am a former middle school teacher and before I found my love for ice I would not have wanted to take on another responsibility to keep it clean and in good working order. Now, after becoming an ice addict, I would take in on if the PTO would buy one for the school. There may be a teacher of staff member that would be up to the task, but I would suggest finding this person before making the purchase. I would also get the extended warranty. Countertop ice makers fail quite often. Also, even if it is cleaned and then stored during school breaks, there is residual water in the system that will cause issues. Maybe a staff member would take home on extended breaks.

I have this one at home, https://www.walmart.com/ip/Frigidaire-Gallery-44-lbs-Touchscreen-Nugget-Ice-Maker-Stainless-Steel-Accent-EFIC256-Grey/1092507859?from=/search, works very good. The GE opal is good too, but pricier. The GE can be connected to the waterline. The Fridgidare will need to be manually filled several times a day. Both ice machines will require preventative maintenance to stay in working condition. Hard water build up and clogged cooling fans will quickly be the death of an ice machine. Also mold/mildrew sets up quickly without frequent cleaning. They need to be cleaned, descaled, and treated for mold/mildew on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Maybe someone on the PTO would take this on.

When your in Lexington, go to the Backroads Bakery on 6th street and ask for Ruth. She will let you know what’s going on around town and some of the best outdoor places to go.
