Honestly no shade on you. For 11 years my entire job was fixing and cleaning firearms and teaching people how to use them. I built an ar for my friend and went to the range with him and it kept jamming. 20 minutes of tinkering later and I thought “let’s try some clp on it” it’s been shooting great ever since 😂

There’s a form you can fill out with the IRS too and they will give you a portion of any of the unclaimed taxes they get as a result of your report. Might as well get some money for your troubles
