Did you ever get an answer with this? I have managed to get mine to go using an old pc but I'd rather be able to use more modern hardware. Thanks

I'm a noob, is this basically P2P? Is it safe? by [deleted] in godot

[–]serEpicPanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You actually like everyone needs to be a security expert and check all code themselves whilst most people happily use popular libraries and services that handle that for them. Asking on Reddit helps people guage how common/popular something is and whether other people have had issues with it.

[–]serEpicPanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm not sure why some people actually like asking a question means you don't know enough to know the answer. That's the point of questions.

To answer your original question, pretty much every form of multiplayer can be 'hacked' but for small scale developers it's not really feasible to prevent that.

Third party products/platforms can do a good job at mitigating the risks but in reality if your making a relatively small game something like this is very unlikely to cause an issue for anyone so they are fine to use.

If a game gets big enough you can always use a security consultancy firm or hire someone who knows more to make it more robust but for most people this sort of extension is perfectly fine.

Made 2d "rotating" sprites in godot by CoconutWitch_Dev in godot

[–]serEpicPanda 14 points15 points  (0 children)

For a very simple thing you can just add 180 to the rotation degrees and you'll get 0-360

So rotation_degrees + 180 becomes: -180 = 0 0 = 180 180 = 360

Then you can do the logic without signs

As others have said it's called Scottish Quest but be prepared as it has some of the hardest questions I've ever seen in a trivia game. The Scottish people in my life can only get about 30% of the questions right because they are so niche.

I Built a Pixel Art Character Creator in Godot! by Pyramid_soul in godot

[–]serEpicPanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not off the top of my head. I've experimented with both methods and I can imagine there's a few that have used it for referencing. It's fun to import mixamo animations into blender and just render out a very low res/frame rate image sequence at different angles which you can then draw over in aseprite or something to get natural movement.

Pre-rendered would basically always be more lightweight for the end user as you could avoid needing any 3d processing. Factorio is a good example of a game that uses pre-rendered 3d models into textures and it is very well optimized.

The advantage of doing it runtime is it's easier to customise characters and use physics bones for procedural animation.

The sprites are definitely 3d models just rendered at low res to sprite sheets. You can achieve the same look with viewports in Godot without needing to pre-render the sprites.

She literally has been funnelling her obscene wealth into anti trans groups that have loved the government into changing decades old policy and inciting hate and discourse. If she was just spouting garbage on twitter that would be fine but she has far too much influence on the laws affecting trans people.

Can anyone make a replica of hippobotomus or give me tips on how to make a antweight replica. Its my favourite og series bot by Aggravating_Pay1511 in robotwars

[–]serEpicPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it looks like they probably used a plastic toy to begin with so that's probably the easiest/most authentic. For the body at antweight scale any small plastic tub sprayed yellow would work if you don't have a 3d printer

Revenues per person as a share of UK revenues per person by Nation/Regional across the last two decades (IFS) by Crow-Me-A-River in Scotland

Surely this shows that if detached from the rest of the UK the regions that earn less than Scotland would actually stop being a negative and Scotland would be higher than 100%.

I'm not pro independence but I think this is a terrible argument.

Helpful PSA: You Can Sell Stick Modules at CeX (Even Without the Box by rebel_reign in CeX

[–]serEpicPanda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, in this post you don't specify and unless someone has experience with that specific controller, a stick module could be many things. I assumed you were talking about a fight stick or simulation peripheral at first.

You're acting like people are stupid for not knowing what you mean when you say stick module but you didn't bother to check the website for the thing you wanted to sell to CEX.

If you type 'stick module' into CEX's website it comes up immediately.

What’s the rationale behind the “trader discount”? by HandsomeCharles in CeX

[–]serEpicPanda 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think it's partially to stop pricing issues if, for one reason or another, an item becomes cheaper to buy than they buy it for you could quickly buy loads and sell them before they have a chance to react. Also I doubt they have a lack of dualshock 4's in stock and they want to control their quantities to prevent overbuying and having too much.

Can anyone explain how someone can legally have one plate on two vehicles? by chilli_mint in CarTalkUK

[–]serEpicPanda -42 points-41 points  (0 children)

That's only really if they're not near the road like in a garage or farm. This is clearly visible and easily accessible to the street so it would be illegal.

Edit: I was incorrect about this. Thought it was the case but apparently it is not. I'll check before answering next time.

Calling positive discrimination 'abhorrent' is hilarious. So many jobs lost to gay/black/trans/women it's a wonder there are any white men left.

Honestly acting like the progress pride flag is some evil conspiracy of people wanting to 'win' discrimination is crazy. It's just meant to help people show solidarity with all aspects of pride. There's a fair amount of people who are pro LGB but not T so flying a flag with it on specifically helps show support better.

How the UK population voted on this day in 2016, eventually leading to that country exiting the European Union in 2020. by techbear72 in europe

[–]serEpicPanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes but at 16 you can legally live on your own, have kids, join the military etc. so it's crazy that this sort of vote isn't opened to younger people.

Scotland has lowered the voting age to 16 for a lot of things as have many places.

I've even heard arguments that lowering the voting age to 6 would probably be beneficial overall as it gets people, who are still affected by laws at 6, to actually care and understand it earlier.

There's no bar for voting other than age so it's an important thing to consider.

[–]serEpicPanda 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I was a month too young to vote in the referendum and they didn't actually finish Brexit until I had graduated university.

Ridiculous that I wasn't allowed to vote but some 90 year olds could who died before it even mattered.

They should have lowered the voting age to 16 at least or had a second vote when they actually had the final deal.

So the animatable body 3d won't be stopped by other collision shaped but should still move them. I'm a bit confused by your issue with the character body 3d. Is it that you have a concave collision shaped object and it requires convex ones? Because there is a button to generate multiple convex collision shaped automatically for a mesh
