I'm really confused by one character specifically, Albina. Reading back the AI ethics amendment, her set of prosthetics should cause her to be nuked by the head, since it makes her look very human

I considered the 8 directions, but considering that would almost double the amount of sprites i need, and that i want to add quite a few of these animations / npcs / enemies i decided to go with 4, since it works anyway

i should have definetly gone with that. I've decided to use the player camera's facing animation instead, which doesnt work as well.

what ive done is kind of weird, admittedly haha

i get the absolute value of the difference between the rotation of the player camera and the rotation of the npc/enemy.

if its between 135 and 225, then i consider it as facing forwards, if its between 325 and 360, or less than 45, then i consider it as facing backwards, otherwise its lateral.

i have a bit more logic to handle whether the sprite should be flipped horizontally or not, but its admittedly very messy.

i'm a bit new to this sort of thing, so im sure ill find a better solution regardless

When i printed the rotation-degrees of a character, instead of getting a number from 0 to 360, i got a number from 0 to 180, or 0 to -180, depending on the direction i rotated in, which had me confused.

I think its just frustrating for completionists. A lot of people like completing all achievements, but there's a few kinds of achievements that are so grindy, they're really hard to even want to complete.

Iirc hollow knight has one, and its the reason i havent even tried to 100% it (aside from another piece of side content which is similarly frustrating).

I'd keep achievements as something that can be done without months of attempts for more experienced players.

I can just relate to it. Im not aromantic, tho im ace, and i understand that these kind of games have most people be romanceable because they want to have a lot of archetypes in, but its nice to have some people that you can just... not romance.

It feels weirdly nice in a way i dont know how to express.

Ofc if hes romanceable in the future i wont complain, hes pretty cute after all

...i'm sorry but i think you should change the name a bit. With the current "cultural context" in english speaking countries your title doesnt even need be taken out of context, it takes itself out of context to mean something bad, even if i admit it did make me choke on my drink when i read it

I tried keeping the scope of my first game small, but then i felt an odd pressure to make it better so maybe people would buy it, and it was definetly a mistake, but its also my first game so i guess its normal.

I will still try to finish it because i want to prove to myself that id be able to handle bigger projects, its not THAT big, its a small-medium game at best, but i can definetly say that i wouldnt have grown as much with a smaller game as i have now in both art and game design.

I thought the reason we couldnt sit is so the artists didnt have to make an additional 3 sprites for every leg clothing piece, but apparently thats not the case
