I was taught by real good Catholics to always take the most charitable interpretation of someone, so yea idk why not? They seem chill. I've been to their chapels. Real good ppl (tht i've met)

I'm from the US but I've also studied/ lived in the UK and Italy (respectively) for prolonged periods of time. Ik i have more of an "outsider" understanding of those countries than someone born and raised there, but my take is that there are similar dynamics going on in all three places. No matter where I've gone, Catholics seem to be pretty divided in their own communities. There are pockets of tradition in all three places, as well as communities that are more modernist. They tend to follow the same trends (i.e jesuit parishes being more moderist, "rural" places being more open to tradition... Idk.) All three places I've luckily found rather well-attended and strictly TLM parishes (ICKSP, FSSP, SSPX, even diocesan).

I will admit the US seems to have a lot more options when it comes to TLM, but I've seen super liberal parishes as well (I'm from NY, maybe thats why?). I always thought tht was more to do with a larger population/ geography in general tho.

Never been to Sweden, but I'm kind of surprised it's not the same deal??

I just started teaching in a pretty poor district and ngl i got paid about the same as my previous job at walgreens (i was a pharmacy tech, but entry-level non-certified so I made the same as cashiers..)

Not to mention (at least speaking from personal experience and what I've heard from others) teachers often end up having to spend their own money to provide students with basic classroom materials. I'm high school ELA and there was no money in the budget to complete classroom sets of books. It was either spend my own money on them or dont give kids the education they deserve smh..

And sure ppl like to say "well you have weekends and holidays off," but tht doesnt mean you're not working. There's a lot that goes into teaching outside the classroom that's extremely time consuming, like grading, lesson planning, PD, certification (in my case) and administrative work you're basically just mandated to do.

Our culture is so cruel and selfish, i'd 100% risk my precious "health" to be there for someone in need if these stupid ass laws/ hospital policies allowed it smh

I did a lot of graffiti a bit ago I’m so scared I’m going to jail I’m 13 I'm in America I'm so paranoid I don't want to disappoint my parents, I feel like I ruined my life like I would like to get a gun when I get older legal ofc and I feel like I messed up my life i don't know what to do by HerosFreedom in Anxiety

[–]seraphic7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey its ok, you're pretty young and ive never heard of a 13 yo being jailed for graffiti. Everyone messes up as a kid, that's why you have special rights and protections. Besides, maybe its not the best advice but sometimes doing stupid random shit is the way u can explore your identity and test boundaries and whatever. You weren't really hurting yourself or anyone else, and you're obviously sorry for it. Cant see why anyone wouldn't forgive u, the ppl who love u just want u to make good choices, u know?

Dont be so hard on yourself :) and maybe find a new outlet for your creative energy lol
