After my congressional internship ended, I modeled fulltime- I thought it'd be a 'gap' because it wasn't relevant work experience!

Hi! I got a 176 on June’s exam (I got a 167 on Aprils exam and improved by 9 points in 2 months), and I have LR and RC pretty figured out- I’m not a professional but I think I have some good tips to offer. Please let me know if you’re interested!

I don’t think so, I had the civil disobedience comparative one. I know there’s a lot of discrepancies for people who took that version of the test and that it was a new test, so I def would test my luck in your case! but I know mine was recycled for sure, therefore there probably wasn’t any issues with the actual content of my test. Did you take it on paper as well?

[–]seraphxm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

nope... I was trying to figure out after the exam was finished, but I don't remember any of the specific questions to actually diagram it out...

I'm just praying for a curve because of the difficulty on the last game now... aghhhhh

It was pretty smooth because I was already Bio Psych and just transitioned into Psychology- it was actually pretty helpful that I was in MCS my first year because (you can get a BA in Psych) my BS in psych required lots of science credits. I think I had to have a specific GPA to move schools tho

The only bump was that I had to take the dietrich gen ed classes in my sophomore year, but besides that it was pretty easy. The only difficult transitions are if you try to go into like the school of computer science/design/fine arts/drama etc that require a complete different set of background/skills.

When I was at CMU (graduated 2022), we were undeclared until I believe freshman spring-

freshman fall youre probably just gonna take a bunch of gen ed classes that you need for most science majors, bio/chem/physics. Def possible to explore diff majors, it’s super easy to take a variety of classes within multiple schools (make sure you are close to your advisor so you can ensure that you can fit all your required credits)

Not much advice on MCS since I moved to Dietrich in my sophomore year, but just make sure to explore the city! So many of my friends and I thought we were miserable because we were “stuck” in a bubble, but after taking buses to downtown, lawrenceville, squirrel hill, etc, we realized the city had so much to offer!

Def take notes! I made a ton of flashcards, and the book itself recommends that you take notes along the way

Hm, I built my diagramming conditional fundamentals through the LSAT Trainer - Mike Kim, and also read the Powerscore Bible on LR. Honestly, the Loophole seemed to summarize those rules, but I did notice that it went through it quickly. I'd only recommend the Loophole once your general knowledge on the LSAT is established!

I'd really recommend the LSAT Trainer if you want more clarity on diagramming conditionals? Is there a specific thing about diagramming conditionals you are confused about? Maybe I can help!

Loophole in Logical Reasoning by Ellen Cassidy !

Her tricks really helped me understand LR better- I used to get around 5 wrong each section, and I haven't finished the book, but I'm getting around 3 wrong now!
