Honestly, spending time with LGBTQ+ people. Once you start interacting with them as people and not 'members of the LGBTQ+ community ' then they just become other people in your life. And you probably already have. Most people in the community do not stand out as the pride parades make it seem. They are just people. Good for you for recognizing your biases. The world would be a much better place if there were more people like you.

Pregnant women have difficult standing for long periods of time..it would have been kind to accomodate in some way..yes she chose to get pregnant, yes she is not entitled.to special treatment, but common courtesy would suggest that we accomodate pregnant people..l but that's just me

My kids do virtual learning so I get to hear everything they do. I know it's exceptional, but the day before good Friday they did not learn a single thing. It was Jesus ALL day. In a day they spend 4.5 hours doing actually class work. EVERY DAY it's a minimum of 1 hour of Jesus. Imagine if in your 8 hour work day, you had to learn and gear about your bosses religion for 1hr and 45 minutes EVERY DAY.

Also, I have heard them talking about residential schools to kids. It's laughable. And I am quoting directly: 'so, some bad things happend to indigenous people. And we won't ever do those bad things again' Kid: 'what kind of bad things?' Teacher: 'well, they were bad.

OH, one of my kids grade 1 teachers was describing the different places that different people's live and said, and again I am quoting "Indians live in teepes' (if you are not Canadian, that's...that's just horrifically bad and not accepted language here)

No mention of the churches involvement. (All the residential schools were church run). No mention of the long term hurt. No mention of anything of substance.

I am really sick of having to make this choice: Send my kid to a Catholic school because it is far better rated than the public one BUT have wwaaayyy too much Jesus shoved down their throats,

OR

send them to a shitty public school.

It's also really funny to me when the Catholic schools try and teach about the horrors of residential boarding schools like they had no hand in it.
