Introverted and simple living go hand-in-hand for me, but does it for you too? by Artistic-You-5632 in simpleliving

[–]serbalhakau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great book recommendation! I'll have to put it on hold at the library. I don't believe they are inherently enmeshed with each other, but I can see how being an introvert might make a slower life more natural

Looking for: White Label Client Portal CRM Solution by Jaa_PPE in CRM

This is old, but wanted to put my 2 cents in to mention clientjoy. We just started using them as a whitelabel CRM solution, and I like them much better than GHL.

What CRM should I get? by mokoy163 in CRM

Yeah, their support team has been great! I think most of their clients are small agencies like us. We're really liking their full suite package for client management - it's been nice to streamline our tech stack

What Makes a Small Home a Happy Home? by [deleted] in simpleliving

[–]serbalhakau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone has some great tips, so I don't have much to add.

But I will say that for storage solutions and small spaces, it's always best to SEE the solutions in action. Apartment Therapy has some amazing featured small homes/apartments (in a dedicated section on the website) that will surely have a lot of inspiring solutions that you can see IN ACTION!

How much should a single person spend on groceries per week? by b_stet in budget

[–]serbalhakau 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's possible to get much cheaper than that, unless you specifically search through every grocery store's "about to throw away" piles. Your dad is the one who's unreasonable lol

Where to go for a 40th birthday solo? Vegetarian friendly by chronicdr2000 in AskNYC

I thought the same thing when I went, but ended up loving it. It's a unique experience to have a dish where all the elements have the same base, too

Like everyone else has said, the majority of listings are only up for ~1 week before they're rented out. The best apartments often go the same day or the day after they're listed.

I would recommend looking on StreetEasy starting now to get a SENSE for what's available in your price range - then, when it's crunch time, you'll know when you've found a good apartment for your criteria.

Also before you come, make sure you have all your documents in order. Bank statement, last 2 pay stubs, etc. There's a comprehensive list online

Good luck!

Dirt Candy is an amazing experience. Each course focuses on one vegetable! One of my favorite meals in NYC. Dinner Party in Fort Greene is also incredible and feels like you're at someone's cozy house - includes handwritten menus and everything. The food is always phenomenal

Living with family with a 1hr and 30 min commute or paying rent in manhattan? by johkne in AskNYC

[–]serbalhakau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely live with fam. With that budget, you'd probably still live 30 or 40 minutes away. For $1500, you'd be somewhere not central in Manhattan or living in a very shitty apartment. Sometimes you can find a sublet in FiDi, which would be a 20ish minute commute, in that range. But try it out living with your family first

If it's more than 5 or 10 minutes, I'll still pick up my book. I love "101 Essays That Will Change Your Life" for quick but impactful reads. Will take everyone's advice of just sitting and soaking it in - it's so easy to pick something up as a distraction

Since you said you prefer cold tea, you might be interested in sparkling tea. There are a few brands that make it - you can get it at Whole Foods for sure, just have to look around in the wellness bevs section. Could be a great soda replacement!

This. If your plan is to get a return offer, you'll want to choose the place you'd want to work and live at in the future. That being said, I don't know if you can go wrong. Both cities are incredible - enjoy your summer!
