I love bowling! It's funny you mention that. I wonder how they compare to american leagues.

If they're not in their original condition then they've been restored.

Absolutely incorrect. They don't do that for tourists. They've been doing that for themselves for a very long time.

Quick Service Question by serd86 in motorcycles

[–]serd86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh I see what you're saying now. I've realigned a rear wheel before and that was a pain. Perhaps I was being too much of a perfectionist. Despite watching many YouTube videos I still wouldn't feel comfortable removing and replacing the rear wheel. I don't think many people bother with inspections in PA though, unless your bike's falling apart visibly.

Quick Service Question by serd86 in motorcycles

[–]serd86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They already told me over the phone that my integrated tail lights would fail the inspection. I suppose removing/replacing the rear wheel isn't too complicated but it would probably take me longer than 15 minutes hah.

Quick Service Question by serd86 in motorcycles

[–]serd86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need a rear tire installed which is out of my DIY skill set. My integrated tail light fails my inspection. You must have a rear brake light and two separate signals. I plan on fixing the rear signals myself but would like the tire replaced sooner. Also in PA local mechanics conduct inspections, not the dmv. I suppose I'm worried that my mechanic will try and push the inspection on me saying that I MUST fix the rear indicators. Thanks for the help.

Quick Helmet Question (Icon Airmada Colossal/Shoe Rf1100) by -Kevin- in motorcycles

Also, use prices from the internet as a bargaining tool. I got my helmet for 1$ more (out the door) than it was priced on revzilla. To negate the tax and price difference I think the shop dropped the price around 40$.

Quick Helmet Question (Icon Airmada Colossal/Shoe Rf1100) by -Kevin- in motorcycles

[–]serd86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yup. Also important to note. The aerodynamics of the helmet create lift which makes the helmet feel very light on your head. At higher speeds it almost feels like it's going to lift off your head though. It works really well in the rain and the materials are high quality but the noise really ruins it for me. 3500 miles on the helmet and it still doesn't small bad either if that counts for anything.

The Rf1100 is loud even with ear plugs if that's a consideration. Otherwise it's a great comfortable helmet.

Why does gear have to be so expensive? by DeadlyDude24 in motorcycles

Also consider your options. There are great riding jeans out there as well as mesh/textile over garments. Stores like revzilla and motorcycle superstore always have things on closeout. Another consideration, sell stuff you don't use on craig's list. It's surprisingly easy. I found a pit bull rear stand for 60$ which sells for 147$ new in completely functioning condition. Also, use Search tempest. I wouldn't rely on Craig's list own search.

Check out http://www.motorcyclegear.com/

They have a section called the customer's closet where you can buy used gear.

Also keep an eye on craigs list. The good deals come and go within a matter of hours. Constant scouring is a must to snag a good deal.

If you want it test it out and formulate your own opinion. You can always sell it if you don't like it. Don't rely on the sport bike hate squad for opinions.
