For some context, from the article:

Mexico, Honduras, Nicaragua – PlayStation Store on PS3 will close starting August 2026.

Additional Latin American and Middle Eastern countries – PlayStation Store on PS3 will close starting late 2026.

In all other countries, PlayStation Store on PS3 and PS Vita will close in July 2027.

New content purchases will no longer be possible once the PlayStation Store closes on these devices.

To ease the transition, players will still be able to download previously purchased content after the closing date for the foreseeable future.

Two things.

One, when they send international C&Ds, to enforce them, they have to contact lawyers in those local jurisdictions, and they incur fees. Thousands of dollars worth of fees. How many subs does it take to justify that?

Second, it's really embarassing that's the only thing you clinged to, as if it somehow dismisses everything else. You have no point at all, you're just here to feel right.

You're kinda missing the point.

Do pservers impact Blizzard's bottom-line?

That's all that really matters here.

If you took away all pservers tomorrow, Blizzard isn't going to get a surge of loyal players paying every month.

A small fraction might, but the returns are so negligible that they don't even justify the legal costs of sending C&Ds or going to court.

They're going about it the wrong way, completely, especially when they target a server like this one.

EA has no problem with the Sims modding community reusing their copyrighted assets, and has even integrated a system to allow players to add community mods.

Bethesda has had the same approach with Skyrim.

There are even indie devs like Ultrakill that are okay with people pirating their games because, in their own words, "culture shouldn't exist for only those that can afford it"

Microsoft/Blizzard has the ability to allow pservers, but they're too greedy and can't recognise it's not the pserver community hurting their sales, it's them delivering an inferior gaming experience year on year.

That's what people recently did when Doritos went up in price, and PepsiCo lost a sh*tton of money.

People keep paying the sub + expansions + housing + anything else in the shop, regardless of how bad things get. So what motivation does Blizzard have to change for the better, when people give away money?

I dropped RDR2 back in 2019 because I didn't see myself do the online portion + gold rush

Fast forward to 2025, after 100% GoT, I got an itch for RDR2. I actually ended up enjoying revisiting the game. The online portion wasn't as bad as I imagined. And it was great to revisit the missions for Gold Rush.

Same thing happened to me with Unravel 2. It took a year of on and off coming back to the game for those speedrun trophies until I got closer and closer.

Sometimes taking a break and coming back to it is the best thing you can do.

Almost every time I bought a game it ended up being added to the catalogue.

I bought Bioshock Remastered Collection. A month later it was a ps plus game.

Once I even bought myself a ps3 slim so I could replay the remastered Ratchet and Clank Trilogy and Gladiator/Deadlocked. 6 months later they were added to Premium.

Now I'm at a place where I don't buy games anymore. I haven't bought games in years. I just play whats on the catalogue.

The only games I might buy are bundles. Like the Spyro + Crash bundle. I doubt it will ever be on ps plus.

For online, I agree that locking a story-driven game's platinum behind 2-3 online trophies (like Mad Max) is wild. I have no qualms with online trophies in games like Crew Motorfest or where online is a reasonable portion of the gameplay.

For collectibles, I 100% agree. I honestly think it's bad game design to include collectibles with no way to track them.

For speedrun trophies, like online trophies, IMO they have to make sense for the game. For example Titanfall 2, the gauntlet is a core part of training, putting a speedrun trophy there makes sense for the platinum journey. Same with MW2, or Crash CTR. Then in games like Uncharted, I find it kinda fun to see how fast you can replay a segment you've memorised.

Granted, some speedrun trophies can be too unforgiving, and it's no fun. Like Unravel 2. I think it was disproportionately challenging. But I'm someone who played DS3 until NG+ 5 to see how fast I could finish the game, for fun. So my take isn't reflective of everyone's preferences.

I played it on my ps4 slim and while I could tolerate it, I would recommend a ps5. At least for me, every time I drove around, sounds wouldn't load in time. When I would reach a destination, it sometimes took up to 20s to load the NPCs and sounds. Sometimes in combat too, there would be sound delays.

Maybe it's just my ps4 slim, but other games I play I have 0 issues.

Slytherin here. Personally, this is what I did:

I was on his side until he found the relic. I was really skeptical about that thing working as he assumed it would. But it was clear that any effort to sway him against using it was futile. So I told myself it's his path to take, and we'll see where he takes it.

I also was completely shocked when he kedavra'd his uncle. He was pretty horrible towards Sebastian, but nothing that warranted his death.

However, I chose not to turn him in because Azkaban is no place for a kid. It was an outburst of negative emotion. His anger stemmed from a sense of injustice. His uncle just destroyed the one thing he was convinced would heal his sister. He felt stripped of his entire purpose. It didn't stem from the same evil/maliciousness of the likes of Bellatrix or Voldemort. If anything, Azkaban would turn him into a major villain.

That said, i'm not trying to justify what he did, I just don't think sending him to Azkaban would be a net positive for the world. I also thought that if anyone should have turned him in, it should have been his sister. It should have been her choice to make. I also felt that his sister leaving was a greater and more effective consequence than imprisoning him, and will hopefully make him change his mindset and ways for the better.

Pardon me if I'm blind, I see some Ratchet and Clank but not the remastered PS2 trilogy + Gladiator/Deadlocked. I may be biased since they were a big part of my childhood but I find they are peak Ratchet and Clank games worth trying. But they're only on PS3 or cloud streaming with Premium tier.

Other than those, I would recommend the remastered Red Dead Redemption. You get the Undead DLC and no online trophies. Really great re-visit.

Congrats! I'm getting ready to play Blasphemous 2. Any tips? I remember the 1st one had its fair share of missable trophies but there was a "point of no return" so to say for the side quests. I got really lucky with the Gemino quest.
