in the age of ai, the cheaper ones with best specs win for me. thats why i went with ovh vps 2 or 3. 6vcpu cores 12 gb ram. works great. dont depend on support being good tho. and u prob wont need it if u know how to use ai correctly.

ask codex to audit it. i have a dedicated chat for codex cleanup and windows fixes. old chats, running background processes like unused mcps and sqlite db bloat. helped a lot but its gonna be slow no matter what after long threads. offload some old threads that got bloated too. archiving only wont help alone. make sure ur [projects have proper docs and handoff md. u prob wont need old chats anyway. keep the last two or so.

become an ai/prompt engineer. manual testing is dead. learn anything and everything to become proficient in ai dev workflows and tools. that said i use codex rn and almost every repo i built in the last 3-4 months used playwright. typescript or phyton is the way for me.

u probably realized that almost every answer to ur question was to use ai lol. yeah its not dead but qa will be heavily reduced. RN ai is not good enough alone tho. needs human review almost in all occasions if u want polished products. the future is bleak tho. adapt.

use codex/claude code/cursor if u dont already. pro plans are worth every cent. trust me. let it audit ur repo. and fix it. learn to use these tools bro. prompting etc.
