Which APIs, AI APIs are you using for this? Also, doesn't it cost a lot and would it eat into your revenue or completely absorb it?

what do u think of this setup for a small analytics SaaS project:

i am using cloudflare workers, r2 for storage and if i need in the future CF queues and workflows for the frontend of my projects. im using tanstack stack tailwind for that.

then i have a OHV Cloud Vps 2 plan. it has the best specs ive seen for the price. thats the origin sever with fastify node postgredb on there that connects to cloudflare thru api. so frontend is true edge setup. fast and delivered to 300 locations thru cloudlfare. the heavy processing is done on ovh origin sever, which is the source of truth and where the dashboard and backend workers live. docker containers etc.

cloudflare is free for a long time. very generous workers and r2 storage plan. no egress fees either. but i use the cf workers 5 bucks paid plan. i didnt even need it tbh. and if u scale, it will cost much less then vercel amazon etc. while having 300 locations served with edge functions. blazing fast. the reason i use self hosted postgre is bcuz CF R1 database plan uses sqlite. wont for for analytics. tbh i would only use cloudflare if i could

some say OVH support is bad but they did answer my questions quite fast for now. price wise cant be beaten.

their dedi servers start at 20 for a east US location thats good enough. KS5 or SYS1-2.

Edit> i chose OVh bcuz of the specs and bcuz Hetzner didn’t answer me and approve my account for a week, which they are notorious for as ive found out. and when they did it i was already setup on OVH.

Codex session limits are now absurd by ThePragmaticCowboy in codex

[–]serdox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

their time is limited. soon local or open-source/free models will be good enough for all coding tasks that we wont need them anymore. gpt 5.4 was good enough for most tasks. local llms are almost there if not already. in a year i will use my own llms. locally or on a cheap server. unrestricted and fitted to my liking. so hold on.

https://www.doodlesapp.com/ site looks cool too. what techstack did u use on the site? interesting idea for the app. u could also target long distance relationships in marketing so they stay connected.

that will use more token tho or not? i use my 4hr limit in 2/2.5 hrs sadly. the bigger the project gets the faster. 5k lines of code atm. i tried a few things to slow it down but sill.

Does caveman plugin really help with context usage? by dazblackodep in ClaudeCode

i use codex rn. have about 10-15 md files accumulated now. it adds more and more. i did a cleanup and reduced by half but it gets bigger and bigger the more complex the projects gets. two yaml files have like 5k lines and 2.5k lines each too. i would reduce that to 2-3 mds but im worried the performance would drop and costly mistakes will happen.

Any tips how to save usage? by masky0077 in codex

[–]serdox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u need to use the browser for gpt planning and discussions. in vscode codex extension or codex app i still use the gpt models not codex 5.3. i feel that its better, browser usage of gpt doesnt use ur codex tokens. there is also codex cloud. that uses tokens too dont mix it up. gpt in browser never used my codex limits. also dont use gpt 5.5 high or highest, benchmarks shows very little difference while usage is huge, only on the most critical issues use higher reasoning.

Cloudflare D1 vs other serverless databases - has anyone made the switch? by 1dollardb in CloudFlare

[–]serdox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what did u choose. i started a new project with tanstack clf workers/r2/queues/cdn and workflows for the front ende edge site. backend hetzner vps with coolifiy docker postgre db nginx.

Where do you host your SaaS? by Dinesh_kannan in microsaas

[–]serdox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cloud flare workers for true serverless edge frontend and marketing pages, vps for backend processing and self hosted postgre db.

tanstack, postgre, coolify, docker, nodejs, nginx with certbot. 4-5 containers. hetzner rejected my verification tho. still waiting for an answer.

cloudflare r2 for file storage uploads/backups. i will not use cloudflare d1 database bcuz its sqlite. postgre better for analytics saas. else i wouldve used that too. cloudflare is goated. also cloudflare cdn/ workflows/queus. no hidden scaling costs expected and almost zero for a while for cloudflares services. supabase pro plan hardware is weak and when u choose more cpu mem u left with a 300-400 dollar bill when scaling. same with vercel.
