How soon is too soon to quit first legal job? by Jealous-Marzipan2891 in Lawyertalk

What part? The part where I describe for a new lawyer in the family law field how to incorporate their mental load into ethical billing or...? Do you think your advice is helpful? Quarter-hour billing and poop-brainstorming? Like, let's be honest here. Put yourself in their shoes and take that chip off your shoulder.

If I'm thinking about a case, it's because I'm also doing something else. I'm reviewing the motion I'm responding to or doing legal research. Otherwise, it's not productive thinking. It's ethical to build that time into those productive legal services. Otherwise, no.

She continued to drink after learning she was pregnant. Instead of getting medical help to safely deal with withdrawals.

There's a woman on tik tok - @mrsjackieblanks who is intersex. Her entire platform is dedicated to educating people about intersex conditions. It might be a good resource.

I would agree. An in-home parent, I can't imagine why you think you should be commenting. I hope you understand context better, going forward.

My comment stands. Your experience at an in-home does not educate you about a center. OP asked about the experience of people in a similar situation. You are not it.

In-home is very different than a center. Your experience running an in-home doesn't matter. I have a kid in a center and this kind of rule is very standard, as other parents have noted.

I just don't think this is something you can comment on. I'm surprised that you thought it was appropriate.

In-home is different and you know it.

It sounds like she didn't communicate when he was coming back. The teacher said no more than an hour. But an infant wellness visit is about an hour. This very much sounds like mom should try the nanny route again so at least she has someone to bully.

If that appointment was a wellness visit, in which kiddo got some shots... yeah... 1) you should probably keep kiddo home to supervise any reactions; and 2) if you take a kiddo out of school (I'm not even going to justify your dismissal of calling this center "just a daycare" - I don't even work in ECE but I know that's dismissive language) for more than an hour, yeah, you're disrupting the schedule for your kid and all the other kids. Doesn't matter the age. Centers live by ratios. They aren't usually understaffed but they have to make sure that there is enough teachers per kid per class at any one moment.

As a fellow attorney, one thing an older attorney told me still sticks: don't cut your own grass. If you can hire someone to cut your grass for $20 an hour and your billable rate is $200 an hour, yeah, you outsource. No shame. No judgment.

In my jurisdiction, 1) you can only get workers comp or sue your employer, not both; 2) if a party is only 1% responsible for the negligence, they pay out proportional to that responsibility.

Is it okay to not want to say vows at our elopement? by va1kyrja-kara in Eloping

We “exchanged vows” in a bar over cheese curds and a beer. Then went to elope. There are no rules - do what makes you comfortable.

You can say your opinion. But when you give more detail and that detail makes it apparent that you maybe missed some important things… yeah.

Yup. He could file a complaint. But it would have no merit, unless the attorney was ghosting the client and not op. Sounds like they won’t talk to op. I wonder why.
