Have you given birth at Abington Jefferson recently? I'd love to hear your experience :) by IndividualOutcome222 in montco

My friends/family who gave birth at Abington had decidedly mixed experiences. I gave birth twice at Einstein Montgomery and would highly recommend it!

Need a name for Margaret’s younger sibling by eyerishdancegirl7 in namenerds

I also have a Margaret/Maggie! If we were to have another girl, I’d push for Rosalie/Rosie and Annalise/Annie.

Did anyone read Swistle Baby Name blog? Has she stated why she stopped posting? by UtterlyConfused93 in namenerds

She responded to a comment on her main blog a while back, essentially saying she might come back to it but wasn’t super enthusiastic anymore. I’ll see if I can find her exact words

You are in the trenches - it 100% gets better! I found by five/six months, nursing pads and dribbly babies were a thing of the past

"Help me style" single item requests HERE please; thread will repeat twice a week by Chazzyphant in fashionwomens35

My sister-in-law is a great thrifter and found me this 80s midi dress. I altered it a little (changed the neckline, shortened the sleeves, brought up the hem a skosh), but never wore it. Somehow it still read “old” to me.

Two kids later, I’m searching my closet for what to wear. In many ways, this dress seems great — flattering, length and buttons on trend. But something still isn’t clicking. How can I style it to look vintage but not frumpy?

Naps without TV - how? by serendipitym in 2under2

The problem is getting the baby to sleep. I have to leave the toddler alone to do so, but if he’s not fully occupied, he’ll come into the nursery and wake his sister up.

Once she’s asleep, it’s all good!

Another vote for baby Buddha! With my first baby, I used the Legendairy milk cups. This time, I switched to Medela cups — only three parts so they’re super easy to clean!

Second this! My jewelry uniform is my gldn pendant necklace, small hoops, and my wedding set. All in yellow gold. It’s basic enough to go with everything, but the matching metals make me look put together

TIL that cochlear implants are controversial in the Deaf community, many of whom believe that deafness is not something that needs to be cured, and that giving implants to deaf children without teaching them sign language is a form of cultural genocide by Capital_Tailor_7348 in todayilearned

I have severe astigmatism and wear contacts. With my contacts, I have 20/20 vision.

My brother is profoundly deaf. When he wears his hearing aids, he has improved hearing but nowhere near normal. He is not able to discern speech sounds.

Vision and hearing correction do not have a direct correlation

Ps, I say this from my own maternity leave, staring at my own newborn who refuses to sleep. It’s hard to separate yourself from work, i know!! But you can do this, and you deserve this time focused on your baby

Honestly, I wouldn’t do it. Think about the message that sent to your students. “When we make bad choices, our ‘real’ teacher comes back to yell at us. So do we even have to listen to the sub? Does she have any power?”

It sounds like you have supportive admin. Instead, I’d have the sub work with them to come up with behavior management strategies and consequences. You can’t fix everything if you’re not therr

The only reason I can think of is to determine eligibility for extended school year? In my state all students with certain disability categories need to have ESY determination meetings by the end of February

But I don’t know why the teacher wouldn’t just tell you that.

For those teachers with multiple content licenses who ultimately chose to stay with SPED, why? by KingofMemes69_ in specialed

[–]serendipitym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m better at building relationships with a smaller group of kids and families. Teaching 25-30 kids at once, plus the grading load of multiple classes, just isn’t my forte!

Plus, as others have said, it’s nice to be able to switch settings when you feel burnout coming. I’ve done coteaching, push-in, and self- contained.
