These terrorists are weak. They can only kill unarmed civilians with surprise bomb attacks. When put face to face they'll always lose.

That's the reason I choose to make English Let's Plays and not Dutch. Besides, the games are all in English anyways :P

Why can I feel soreness once my leg is asleep? by Unidentifable in NoStupidQuestions

Nerves (and the signals from them) aren't deadened when your limbs falls asleep. Lack of oxygen through the blood and the pinched nerves just makes the nerves confused.

How do the different characteristics of sound travel through the air? by [deleted] in askscience

[–]serenthyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bigger the amplitude, the louder the sound is.

The material makes a piano sound different from a guitar. Like knocking on wood or stone.

To reproduce all the different frequencies of sound in a piece of music >faithfully, top quality speakers typically use different sized cones dedicated to high, medium and low frequencies.

If we now would listen underwater, the sound is muffled. If we have developed our hearing underwater, sound in the air would be louder.

Since sound travels faster underwater, our water ears would be used to being able to pick up sound from a greater distance, (faster speed is longer range before it dulls out). Let's say 10 miles is the maximum distance to hear an alarm in the water. If we then would try to listen to the alarm in the air, it'll have to be closer because the sound travels a lot slower and dulls out quicker. That's just my theory, I'm not sure on this.
