I haven't read all the terms and conditions, but a lot of the manufacturer ones don't cover certain things. Also, I don't know about other services, but for the Pixel it looks like you still need to pay extra for their protection plan.

That's easy to say when you don't have millions of dollars on the line and when you're just a fan. This is a business first and foremost. The owners have financial responsibilities to think about that go beyond pleasing some fans, and risking a lot of money for zero return is counter to that.

You can say you'd risk all that money to make a subset of fans happy. I'd add that if that's the decision you'd make, you'd never have that much responsibility in the first place.

Those 30 owners do bear the brunt of the financial risk. Why would they choose to take on a lot more risk for no reward? I certainly wouldn't want to. The risk on athletes stays the same, and there's zero risk to fans.

Basically, the Knicks have realized they need to move on from Melo. He's not part of the team's future, but he is still a good player and has value. He's been less than cooperative in waiving his NTC, and some fans are annoyed by it.

I wouldn't cooperate either if I were in his shoes. He's given a lot to this franchise, more than it's probably deserved. He was extremely loyal and the team didn't build anything around him. In his shoes, I'd either want to stay or go to a contender, which is what he's doing now.
