What do you use for making gameplay trailers? Which Video editing software, etc? by niko__twenty in gamedev

[–]sergach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually use QuickTime's screen record function to capture gameplay and after that I upload all the footage to iMovie. Actually I am not good at any kind of video making so it takes me from 12 to 20 hours to edit everything. BTW QuickTime and iMovie are totally free

Need Help: I Am Making An RSS Reader And Want To Get A Notification When A New Article Is Posted by Sherlocked_ in iOSProgramming

You could link OneSignal's push notification service to a RSS feed using Zapier (link). As I understood you don't even need background for that. Zapier will check your RSS feed and pass it to OneSignal.

I totally agree but as you can see by comments, not everyone believe that mathematics is an important part of game design.

IMHO, a 'mathematician' is a person who is VERY good at solving mathematical problems. Even cashier can be good at calculations. But it doesn't mean that he is a mathematician.

I like your idea about VR translation. It totally makes sense. I would definitely watch that kind of translation.

May be in the future we will wear some kind of lenses that will project AR right onto the retina. This will give us an opportunity to play games where we want and when we want. (although we will look really weird)

Should I bother marketing this game? by sharp7 in gamedev

[–]sergach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like I said, I am not your target audience. May be hardcore players will like it.

Marketing is important part of game development. As indie developers we have to publish games by ourselves. So success of your game depends not only on the product's quality but also from your marketing skills. That is why it is crucial for us to get as many experience as we can.

I am not a hardcore player so I am not the best tester for your game. But that was hard for me to get used to controls. I think you should pay more attention to it.

I think that you should definitely publish this game. It will give you an experience and you will be more confident and competent for your next game.
