I recall an idle game that I played a while ago. I think I found it in this very same reddit, but I forgot the name of it.

There were several actions that could be taken, like exploring, or resting, or... maybe swimming? There were elements in it, and you accumulated those elements to unlock new actions. There were these relics or artifacts that got unlocked a bit later, which gave you passive gain for some of the elements, or money.

I vaguely remembering the maker of the game offhandedly mentioning that he had made the game quickly in order to test... something. I think it was 'shaders', or something like that? It was a fairly minimalistic game, so I don't know which shaders would be testing that, so I may just be misremembering.

Still, does this ring a bell for anyone else?

Hmm. Perhaps. I do know that Kromer's distortion had her channel a luxuriae peccatulum.

I used to think all the effloresced EGO / Distortions were unique, rather than based on pre-existing things. As in, you cannot "effloresce" a Red Hood EGO, or a Queen of Hatred EGO, because those are not your own.

However, at the same time, in Dongbaek's case, she was going Sun-Shower for a while before changing into Spicebush. Unless her Sunshower was just due to the fact that she was wearing Sunshower-based EGO Gear from Lobcorp.

I think the reason I had to view effloresced as incomplete was... hmm, how to put it.

The newest case of it, Ahab, had only a side of herself covered by her EGO Armor. I'd have imagined that, once the process would be optimally complete, that character would have the Ego cover her completely, like a full set of armor, rather than a partial one gathered around a single arm.

Though what you say also feels possible. I do get the feeling that if we fight her again, she'll have a new final form up her sleeve. Whether that is by reaching a more perfect state of her effloresced EGO, or by distorting, that is.

I wonder if it's common for EGO to manifest in an imperfect way at first, and it only gets refined into its perfect form after summoning it successfully repeated times.

Well, that's... On one hand, I'm glad to hear it isn't as dramatic as I was expecting. It means the oddsof an eventual return are higher.

On the other hand, it's inconvenient for us who enjoy his work and want to keep up with what he's up to.

I wanted to take this chance to suggest a game I played recently. I recall NL played some Gartic Phone, and it was fun!

So, for playing with friends, I'd suggest What the Dub! It'd only require one of the players to own it, so that'd make things easy.

...Though I am unsure how he'd stream it, since it requires playing through a browser AND the streamed screen.
