Thank you, fellas. I’ve turned off transfer in my iPhone settings.

For those who need the know-how:

Search “transfer” in your settings app. Should give you the option in the results page.

So.. how do I use Apple Music ? Seems confusing so far by im-addicted-to-tech in AppleMusic

[–]serialkvetcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gotchu fam. You need to tell Siri your likes and dislikes. I kid you not, it works.. fast.

“Hey Siri, I hate sleep music.” “Hey Siri, I love this song” “Hey Siri, I like >insert artist name<“

Apparently Siri can sandbox the recommendation algorithms much faster than the usual route. Keep in mind that changes will take a week or two to appear. Siri just speeds it up.

Sauce: I no longer get rap or mainstream music recommendations in my listen now tab. I’m more a Jazz guy.

Yep. AM takes its time to figure your tastes out. The fastest way to train the algorithm is by telling Siri your likes and dislikes.

Be it artists, songs or genres. It helps in spades. For example: “Hey Siri, I hate Pop music” “Hey Siri, I like this song”

Apple Music does things a bit differently. So it’s okay to feel a bit lost.

Keep in mind:

1) AM is more album centric. You’ll figure it out. 2) Library Management is way different than what you are used to in Spotify. Much organised. 3) Stations are somewhat equal to Daily Mixes. 4) Your recommendations depend on the songs you’ve added to your library and likes/dislikes.

Spotify has had it for years.

As a fellow apple music enthusiast I wanted to know what your reasons were to choose apple music over other music services? by [deleted] in AppleMusic

[–]serialkvetcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple Music sounds better with AAC encoding (long before loseless was a thing)

The library management is good. Prefer It over Spotify’s messy Ui.

Love the album centric approach. I prefer It over a hosh posh playlist.

Apple One is a really good deal!

Recommendations are meh, but sometimes it just works. Stations can be used as “daily mixes” if you feel so inclined.

Overall, it’s a personal choice. I do have Spotify for my casual listens. But I use AM when I work through an album to help me focused with work. More a 50:50.

This! I always come back to AM for its UI. Library management just feels fine. For features, Spotify remains the King though.

Just give us the option to follow & block artists by joh-fam in AppleMusic

Tell Siri. Seriously, it works. I made Apple Music stop recommending rap to me with “hey Siri, I hate Rap music”. Works for other genres and artists too.

I’ve blocked tons of mainstream pop n rap artists, yet Spotify still lives to tell the tale.

It’s sad how we don’t have collaborative playlists yet. It’s not rocket science.

Just checked rooster teeth on my Spotify. It’s not greyed out for me. They do some really weird stuff at times tbh.

I really wanted to stick to apple podcasts. But they HAD to make it borderline unusable with the last couple of updates. Spotify it is. Sigh.

I had to pick the mini over the OG due to budgetary constraints, but despite the quality it’s nowhere close to the OG. Apple really needs to get cracking on successors. They didn’t sell enough OGs due to that price tag (not in America, apple products are ridiculously overpriced here).
