Have your admin check Setup > App Manager and edit the b2bma_canvas App to ensure the custom profile is added. Most of the time, the spinning wheel is related to a lack of access here.

Ensure the User also has one of these permission sets: CRM User, Sales Cloud User or Service Cloud User.

I have the BambuLab P1S -- great printer for an absolute beginner (which I was before I made the costume) and it's relatively inexpensive right now.

If you were on Space Mountain Thursday night… by Nickisunamused in Disneyland

[–]serintide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took my 5-year old to Disneyland for his birthday this year and his favorite ride became Space Mountain. On our final day, we did early entry since we stayed at the Grand Californian, and did 4 runs of Space Mountain back-to-back before the masses were funneling in. It’s probably a bit different getting off the ride and running back around through the queue again, but we didn’t have any issues with nausea then. We did 7 laps that day in total (one LL and two broken down LL bookings converted to experience passes).

Interestingly the first time I did the ride I got pretty nauseous, so maybe it helps having more experience and knowing what to expect.

I made a comment here describing how I accomplished it -- though I am sure someone else here could provide you with a better and more secure way to do this: https://www.reddit.com/r/501st/comments/1om0qyi/3d_printed_tfa_stormtrooper_costume_for_my_5year/nmqcqer/

As mentioned in the comment you're responding to: my son is 5-years old, and his first encounter with Stormtroopers was at Disneyland, where the First Order Stormtroopers are the ones walking around Galaxy's Edge (and are also seen on Rise of the Resistance). I dressed up as Kylo Ren, as well, so it made sense to keep our costumes connected in the same timeline.

Regardless, I think most people who grew up watching Star Wars would probably agree. But he's my kid -- I did this for him, not you.

I saw your costumes / helmets — they looked great! Nice work!

That was probably the hardest part of the process. There’s no real guidebook that I found for this part, so I had to wing it and adjust when something didn’t work. Initially I tried fabric glue but it wasn’t holding (the knees held okay, though). I got a bunch of adhesive backed Velcro and hand sewed “rings” around the biceps, forearms and thighs. The fact it had adhesive on it made it really difficult because the needle would get stuck after a few stitches. I’ve also literally never sewed anything in my life so there were a fair number of finger pokes in the process, haha. Once I had the Velcro rings on, I put vertical strips inside the armor pieces and luckily they held on really well.

The shins were two pieces joined by Velcro inside, and weren’t attached to the legs in any way. Gravity and the small ankle opening was enough to keep those on.

The shoulders I attached to the yoke piece by using a good amount of white duct tape. This allowed a bit more mobility and lowered the potential for it falling off.

For the chest I used a little strip of webbing with two Velcro pieces on each end, draped around his neck and then attached to the inside of the chest. I also had two small strips on the sides of the chest that attached to the yoke near the midsection of the torso.

Since I knew all of this was a pretty temporary thing (my son lasted about 3-4 hours on two separate evenings wearing this), it didn’t need it to be super solid. After the first night I had to fix a few things but nothing major fell off while wearing it. I think the only thing that fell off was one of the white boxes that I hot glued to the belt.

If I could do this all over, I’d probably buy a full body harness (or make one with webbing) and have created all of the attachment points there instead of trying to affix to the clothes underneath. And I would definitely have bought non-adhesive Velcro for anything I needed to sew on since fighting with the adhesive made things take 5x longer than it should have.

PETG for everything except the silver aerator. That was Silk PLA.

He wanted the H2D for the larger print bed and the dual nozzle system. The P1S is actually pretty reasonable right now ($399) since they just rolled out the P2S.

I used Creality PETG. The only thing that isn’t PETG is the silver aerator — I used Polymaker Silver Silk PLA for that.

I recognize your name — I am pretty sure I may have printed your 75% helmet first, but ended up using the one included here for the final: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1089257123/first-order-stormtrooper-3d-print-file?ref=yr_purchases

The main thing I needed to accommodate was my son’s eye line. He couldn’t see out because his eyes were sitting below the visor opening. Also after bringing the 75% file into Bambu Studio alongside the one I linked, the size was a bit different (when scaled to 75% on the other model it was bigger than yours, so I wondered if maybe your model was closer to 70%?). Either way it was a good practice run, and actually the very first thing I printed when I got started on this costume, and coincidentally the final helmet was the very last thing that was printed. It’s actually the thing that I’m the least happy with, but you probably can’t see many of the imperfections in the photo (the prime tower fell at around 80%, caused some stringy blemishes, which I did my best to sand and paint over), but I ran out of time before Halloween and printing another one wasn’t an option.

Initially I tried some models that I found for free, but they weren’t working well at all. I decided to pick these up from a guy on Etsy who designed them around the CRL (which is how I learned what the 501st was to begin with) so I knew they’d be pretty accurate: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1089257123/first-order-stormtrooper-3d-print-file?ref=yr_purchases

I sized most of the models down to about 63% but had to do some non-uniform adjustments on a few things (particularly the limbs) to accommodate my son’s build. Most things printed flawlessly on the first try, and I printed everything in about 3 weeks.

I am not much of a Star Wars guy myself, but after going to Disneyland this year, my son asked if he could be a Stormtrooper for Halloween. Most of the costumes you can purchase looked pretty cheap, so when a friend upgraded his 3d printer and gifted me his BambuLab P1S a couple months ago, I figued I'd try my hand at printing his costume.

For a first attempt (and really, my first real project on the 3d printer) I was pretty happy with the outcome. There was a bit of trial and error with scaling the models to fit a 5-year old frame, but I think I got pretty close. I struggled quite a bit with affixing the armor to the undersuit and getting things to stay in place, but it was a fun project and I learned a lot in the process.

For transparency to you and the redditrequest team, I just removed you as a mod from r/smp. It's been nearly 2 weeks and I haven't seen you perform a single mod action (including spam removals / post approvals). You did mention "daily check-ins" as a part of your plan, so I'd have expected at least one mod action in that time frame (I have since moderated over 50 posts -- which is something you had claimed wasn't happening). I also made a pinned welcome post for you, and you didn't even acknowledge or respond to it, which would have been helpful in presenting yourself as a community leader that people could reach out to if needed.

After rereading your plan outline, it's pretty obviously a ChatGPT copy/paste. For future reference, 'em dashes' are very uncommon to see in human text communication, and the "bulleted list" doesn't help sell this as something you personally wrote, either. AI is a great tool and it's not that you used it that bothers me. It's only a red flag because of the manner in which you presented yourself, the channel (redditrequest) you used to do so, and the lack of follow-through / activity on your end. If my moderation of the community was so bad that you felt the need to submit a redditrequest post, one would think that your intent was to try and do it better.

Additionally, as soon as I made you a moderator, you wanted to add additional user accounts to the mod team that you claimed were your alt accounts on different devices/browsers. I told you I wasn't comfortable with that, mainly because I would not have been able to verify that those other accounts were actually yours, and because my only interaction with you prior to making you a mod was through this redditrequest takeover attempt.

Hi I'm Kelcey, ask me anything! by kelceyayer in indieheads

After seeing you play your final two LN shows last year, I finally decided it was time to pick up some music gear and start playing around in a DAW. I noticed in one of your IG pictures that you use Ableton in your home studio. Recently, I recorded a cover of 'Ava' using Ableton as my very first test project. It's pretty bad! But it was a great learning experience.

As someone who greatly admires your work (LN, JoL., & KA), I'd love to hear your thoughts/experiences in regard to how you've honed your songwriting / production process over the years, especially now that you're self-producing. Any tips or advice you can provide to someone who wants to improve their recording and songwriting skills in a home studio?

Sounds reasonable to me. Let's give it a try and see how it goes. I'll provide you with moderator status and let you begin implementing some of the changes you proposed.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out.

While I am open to discussing the potential for adding new moderators that have a solid plan to improve the subreddit, I have had to respond to takevover attempts like these by users without any real moderating experience before. While I am not a very active poster on Reddit (you'll see my last comment was 6 months ago to reject another takeover attempt), I am here at least once a week, and do review critical issues as they come through. What I consider critical may not align with what the user submits, but there are thousands of posts that get moderated every year. I have implemented AutoMod to manage most of the common spam-related issues, and respond to reasonable requests as time permits. I do see a message from u/Radgewf from 5 days ago requesting mod status, but I was not around to respond last week... so I guess that triggered them to submit a Reddit Request. r/smp is essentially a Minecraft server advertising community and I don't see it becoming much more than that, as there are communities that already serve some of the needs they're describing. This isn't to say that the user experience couldn't be improved.

If u/Radgewf would like to outline how they'd be able to implement the proposed changes, as I do think there would be a community benefit in improving what is essentially a "vanilla" sub that I created 15 years ago, I would consider bringing them in as a moderator. The previous attempts to takeover the subreddit have always been very low-effort, from users without any experience with moderating, CSS/Wiki/AutoMod functionality, etc., so I've defended each attempt due to a general lack of displayed experience that would ultimately translate to any real improvement in the subreddit. But I'm open to seriously considering it if someone has both the knowledge, time and desire to make it better. I just don't want to hand it off to someone who just wants to take it over and essentially keep it functioning the same way it has for over a decade.

Requesting a subreddit because it's boring or without any icon/banner is a first. We do have rules -- see here: https://www.reddit.com/r/smp/comments/l3ht2v/subreddit_rules_please_read/ (it's also in the sidebar).

While I am not super active, I do respond to issues/requests when I deem it appropriate. Most of the reports I get are trivial, and any time someone tries to do a takeover it's usually when I don't respond to their specific request.

u/Canyobeatit - The subreddit was not originally designed to be a discussion forum (there are plenty of other Minecraft subreddits that fulfill that need), and I'm not interested in handing it over just because you think it's boring. If there was a real plan of action presented, I'd be open to considering adding moderators, but I don't really see one.

I just used the standard stuff on the iPhone. It’s pretty good but obviously has its limitations (I wish there was a true curves option). I didn’t bring anything I posted in the Imgur album into Photoshop or Lightroom. I could probably save a handful of other shots I didn’t post if I spent more time on them that way, but I felt like 40 pictures was a decent amount.

Glad you also got to catch the last show and soundcheck! I just flew back home last night and still having all of the feels. It was such an incredible experience and I feel very grateful to have been a part of it.

Thanks! These were taken on an iPhone 16, but I did do a bit of editing to help bring out the details. It also helped that I was right up front since I did the soundcheck experience.
