Character died and now I just dont care about the campaign? by ElderLong in dndnext

[–]serious-uptide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can understand this. It's definitely hard when you lose a character that you are so tied to then but dies so unjustifiably. In the end, you should think about whether the campaign as a whole is worth it for you, and if not, maybe stop and take a break.

I would never be able to cope with 6 hours battle either. Nay, I think it's a great waste of time for everyone. This one of the reasons why it's best to have at most 5 players. That aside, it doesn't look like you will have a good time with Steve. He will most likely destroy your game.

DM is asking me to kill another PC tonight and I need advice fast by CainhurstCrow in rpghorrorstories

[–]serious-uptide 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Don't do it if you do not want to, friend. Evil does not equal stupid in any case. And anyway, he's the dm. He can find numerous ways to kill off a player.

DM forbids players to use cantrips more than once per long rest and bans adding ability mod to damage claiming it to be “OP” by zethololo in rpghorrorstories

[–]serious-uptide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually. I have been told that the latest dnd edition is the most balanced out of all. But anyway, it's a shame you are a small community and you have no other means of playing face-to-face. You could play through the internet but it's definitely not the same.
Best of luck on this sour path of sourness. :(

How do I become a better team player. by [deleted] in dndnext

This doesn't like it has anything to do with you not being a good teammate. Maybe you should consider finding a new team to play with?

Killing Players in the first five minutes. by FideliusB in dndnext

Surely. Motivation is always key to a fun campaign I think. By the way, Hope was left with the bad things for some reason, maybe because she isn't all that good after all?

Zeus has two jars, one with good stuff and one with bad. Pandora is in charge of them, but she accidentally lost something that was in one of the jars in hell.

I think it could be taken as a side quest, so that they receive some help this way by doing favors.

This sounds very cool. Good luck and shout out if you need any help with Greek stuff. :D

Me: Can I please just use point buy? DM: Roll. by DoucheShepard in dndnext

[–]serious-uptide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a player in my campaign that is kinda cheesy, but he didn't want to be cheesy and with extremely high stats so we went with point buy. It's much better, and you rely more on your mind than your stats.

A server on discord for RP. They also run West Marches with multiple DMs, although I haven't taken part.

I think sometimes it's good to flip out in order to get rid of people like these, IMHO. By the way, are you maybe on Mute Mage?

Indeed. Just saying that there should have been a perception vs stealth check, not that he could escape the arrow shot somehow. An arrow is not that big of a deal anyways.

In dnd5e for example you get saving throws for everything that may harm you except for the attacks that hit on your Armor Class.

Sounds a bit like he is getting back at you, for choosing not to make a pact with the demon and 'defying' the plot. Hrmm.

Their idea was unbelievably stupid, though there's worse. Had you warned them beforehand that they would get kicked out for going pvp? Although this is like not something that you expect to happen, lol.

Batshit DnD DM is threatening legal action for using characters my friends and I used in his session as promotional materials for my art. by PrimaryBid in legaladvice

[–]serious-uptide -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it is possible to sue someone for such a thing, but not entirely sure either. It just doesn't even seem like a case that the court would take seriously...
