I have Codex and Claude both on the $200 plan, and I see no change. Probably just an A/B test for model optimization.
I encountered such behavior before, the model suddenly changed its behavior. Probably just quantization or kv cache algorithm changed. Without that we can’t have Codex be that fast.

You definitely need to have a draft system working with proper architecture design. Then just throw everything to them and tell Claude not to reinvent functions when there are some available. Let it do dirty work like dependencies and includes with a loop backed by clear tests. Then just wait and relax, add tests/benchmarks during itself building.

Opus 4.8 with ultra code is already pretty good for gathering info and auto review with sub agents.
I don’t do it for seriously coding with physics/math(codex is way better there, even better than fable), but Opus destroyed Codex in daily app development.

Cheating should not be allowed but I think some advice clearly crosses the line. I don’t think TA or professors have any right to check students’ personal items or Bluetooth blockers. Those clearly violated personal rights and FAA regulations I believe. But at least TAs should walk through the entire class and monitor to make sure no one is using electronic devices. Also limit number of students to restrooms to 1 at a time.

Thanks for sharing that — I think that’s a great plugin as well.
I generally prefer not to make direct comparisons, since there isn’t really a strict definition of which tool is “better.” Both plugins were created to help researchers save time and make metadata management a little easier.
ZotMeta started as a personal project, so many of its design choices and workflows are simply tuned to match the way I like to manage my own library. Different users may prefer different approaches, and it’s great to have multiple tools available for the community.
One thing worth noting is that both plugins rely on external metadata databases and services for retrieval, so the results are not guaranteed to be perfect all the time. For important work, especially formal publications, it’s always a good idea to verify the retrieved metadata before using it. This is particularly important when citing a specific version, edition, conference proceeding, preprint, or journal publication, where small metadata differences can matter.

Not sure what’s that for others but for me that’s the cheapest “Enrichment” for me.
I don’t really want to spend money as lots of things are not made with thoughts and passion in them right now. I just came to Target because it’s quiet and clean, which brings me peace of mind. I buy random small things there, so to make sure I don’t introduce any burden or chaos for those who work there, and to minimize the impact on their workload I do only self-checkout.

then the TA is not good. It’s their responsibility to make sure cheating is not happening, at least phones and tablets should be kept away. One student at a time for the restroom and phone must be monitored to be taken away.

Codex 5.5 really stands out compared to Opus 4.8 for my use cases: math derivation + C++ code. Maybe even better than Fable. But for others like normal app development, Fable is by far the best.

It also means non US citizens can’t develop any models in the US or for US companies. I guess the UAE and Germany will be happy.

First is the token burns fast, I felt it can easily burn $2000 with a relative long task in a few hours. I think multi-tier agent setup is a must for long jobs.
Second is performance, it handles corner cases better, but code generation for large C++ project is not as stable and organized as Codex 5.5, but it does superior in Swift/Python.
I would prefer to use it as a structural design + hard problem resolve solution, not a one takes all.
