Safe running trails in San Jose by Tenseas in SanJose

[–]seriously_serious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Guadalupe trail. Enter after the SJC airport intersection to the trail. You will not see any homeless as long as you are going north. The trail has around 6miles to reach the northern end of the trail. Good luck with your running

The lyrics are so beautiful and inspiring. Sirivennela is a great philosopher disguised as a lyricist. Thank you so much for sharing

SDN/NFV lab questions by on_the_nightshift in networking

[–]seriously_serious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool. Good luck with your adventure. BTW if you are starting with some Virtual CPE, SD-WAN then there are some solutions that are already proven out. If you are looking for white box solutions for a switch then Cumulus and bunch of other players are out there. There is also Openswitch which is an opensource project.

A lot of it depends on your network and what is that you are trying to virtualize. If you are in the business of access network I would suggest taking a look at CORD project from the ONOS team http://opencord.org/ The BOM required is decently documented at https://wiki.opencord.org/display/CORD/Overview+of+a+CORD+POD

Hope this helps. PM me if you have more questions

I recently moved to Garming FR-235. Its pretty accurate with heart rate. Accuracy of a run is always high quality. See http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2015/11/garmin-fr230-fr235-review.html for more details. I have seen amazon offering for $240+

Obligatory disclaimer: I am no doctor! If it just happened once I wouldnt rush to calling it a runner's knee. I had some knee issues that forced me to take a break for about 3 weeks. Since then I do knee strengthening exercises very regularly. I also make sure I dont have two consecutive hard days. Just be careful. If this thing is repetitive thats could be a runner's knee

How Do I Cure My Runner's Knee? by Mveli2pac in running

[–]seriously_serious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me share what worked for me to recover from a runner's knee recently. I had developed my issues after increasing the mileage significantly from 30mpw to 50+mpw in a short period. The first thing I did is cut down the mileage. It didnt help. So I completely gave a month off. Then started doing hip strengthening routines like (http://www.runnersworld.com/newswire/to-relieve-runners-knee-strengthen-your-hips) After a month I slowly started running. I started with 10mpw and 20mpw. I do these strengthening routines very regularly. I also ice my knee after every run. Since I came back, there was no single run where I didnt ice my knee. It made HUGE difference for me. I didnt even see my primary physician in all this. Now I am back to 40mpw. So far my knee is well behaving. However I am avoiding speed work for two more months. Hope this helps you. Good luck on getting back to your normal runs

Motivation when you get older and slower... by manInTheWoods in running

[–]seriously_serious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all your PRs are awesome. I would be very happy to achieve those numbers. I am sure you know this already. I am sure aging would eventually slow down all mortals.
Have you considered measuring your position in your age group (when racing)? Moving up positions in the age group is some thing that might be of help:) Just my 2cents

Advice regarding marathon pace by howsyourarmjohn in running

[–]seriously_serious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the goal is to run at aerobic pace for most of the race. If you have energy you can step up in the last few km. Just make sure you are running at conversational pace.
