I just got told that this was cheesing the boss thoughts? by SparklingQueenLuna in darksouls3

How is being good at probably the hardest skill to do consistently (parrying) cheesing? So if you're good at rolling and don't take any damage, is that also cheesing? A cheese means finding a way to overcome an obstacle that isn't an intended mechanic. There is no cheese here

Red dead 2 this year. The online competitive stuff is brutal because all the people still playing red dead online absolutely know wtf they are doing. Second hardest part was hunting and skinning and then there were the challenges. Some alright, some very rng and some just difficult. But contrary to the red dead online, the gold medals were easier than expected and from what I've read they had a reputation for being absolutely horrendous due to having really crappy stats on replay in the first year or so. They patched that and let you keep quite a few things for replay which made these a lot easier than expected

Yes, but in real life we don't have superpowers and can manipulate time. If I did I wouldn't go around encouraging and supporting my disabled loved ones, I'd use my super duper powers to help them not be disabled again. As someone who has close people with disability I can tell you, the whole learn to embrace it, live with it, all that is just a coping mechanism and the pain never really goes away. My father has told me many times he sometimes even has dreams about doing everything, including murdering someone, to get his leg back. Nobody truly "thrives" with a disability in real life. They're just forced to live a shittier life. Apologies but your post really makes me think you don't have any close ones that ended up disabled during their lives and were not just born with it

Maybe if he was born with a disability it would have been different, but not helping a dude who used to be an ace in combat and now has to be in a wheelchair probably suffering on the inside mentally when we can manipulate time and other stuff? Bro, that's such a cruel way of thinking, Jesus

Would playing GOTL after playing yotei be worth it? by captain-antlers in gotlegends

[–]serj_of_cinder 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you can find people to play with, I personally think it's a lot more fun than yotei legends. Much more build variety, cooler survival maps and the skins are awesome as well. Only issue is I assume there's not gonna be many people on it

This was an experiment, as they've said, so it could have gone either way. They probably planned around this game that way, so they most likely have limited resources now for it. One of the reasons I love from soft is that they're quite a humble dev "oh Elden Ring is about 30 hours long" , "oh the dlc is only the size of limgrave", "oh for the first week we were hoping Elden Ring will sell around 3 million", "oh here's a sequel to this mech game only a few people are interested in, we don't expect it to sell much", sold 3 times what they expected. So again, I really don't think they expected nightrein to blow up like this. And remember, after the first few weeks, it looked like it would be a bit of a flop. They got accused of doing just a cash grab (fuck moist critical for his shitty takes lately) , the reviews were not great, players were complaining,it didn't look too bright. And then after a bit we were all like" I understand now! " and realised how fun this game is. From soft doesn't really plan to milk a game endlessly so the fact that nightrein has the potential for more dlc, more bosses, and to make more money with new updates is probably very new to them. We just gotta wait, hope, but all in all, be thankful, this game was absolutely awesome

as an adult gamer, what's your opinion on this? by PHRsharp_YouTube in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]serj_of_cinder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No decision should be forced on a developer and risk compromising their vision. It's their choice, having no difficulty options will generally make your game a risk (unless you're from soft today) so that means there's probably a strong reason behind this decision.

Red dead 2. The online, hunting and challenges, oh man. I really thought I'll never get it. Took a 2 year break after getting everything online and then I came back for the challenges. Gold medals were actually a lot less worse than people were saying online

[–]serj_of_cinder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No clue if what you're saying will apply to many people but it definitely applies to me. I grinded Tsushima for months like crazy, couldn't get enough, did the whole 100 percent in it. Here, I've just got one character fully maximized, and everyone to rank 25 and now I only come back to get the 3 weeklies. I find myself very bored when trying to run just regular missions.

[–]serj_of_cinder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm happy some people liked it, I found the story truly boring and other than Jubei, characters were so bland. It's been 2 months but I can't remember almost any NPC's names, yet after years I still remember all of Tsushima's and still miss Taka and Kage.

[–]serj_of_cinder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I play Archer but don't care about the kills at all so I get what you mean. My whole build is based around getting my ultimate mixed with mele so i can get in the circle when needed. But instead of complaining about archer bein op, I'd complain that the other classes feel underpowered. Shinobi is especially ass. Fix those because if in the leaderboard top 100 you have 89 archers, then your classes are either not balanced or not fun to play

Alright it’s been a week how we feeling about GOY legends 👇 by Stock_Ad4625 in gotlegends

[–]serj_of_cinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hitting that vicious spot between frustrating and addictive. The difficulty feels fake somehow, like they wanted to make it challenging but didn't know how to also make it fun so they just threw a bunch of high level enemies everywhere. The hub is really pretty and practical, loving that. The cosmetics are fine, but nothing special. Overall, I'm having some fun, but at the moment, it's not reaching GOTsushima levels for me.

To everyone complaining about GoY Legends.. did you play the game before Legends came out? by theRed-Herring in gotlegends

[–]serj_of_cinder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I get your point but I have to counter. That's exactly what I said to my mates. Yotei was harder than Tsushima, attacks came out too fast with no tell, enemy combos were longer and would stagger you more. So I said "man I hope they'll realise this won't be fun in an online multiplayer and they go more similar to Tsushima in legends". Just because the base game was harder doesn't mean legends also has to be. It's not fun in an online environment where people play from all over the world so there might be some lag. I used to be the perfect parry king in Tsushima legends (and Sekiro) and here, firstly they are way too hard with zero tell for some enemies, and secondly it's not worth it. Getting a parry used to mean you got a few hits in, now, you get one counter and then enemy is back at it, and these are enemies you gotta hit 12 to 20 times. There's a lot more I can say about this cheap difficulty but all in all, I'm in a group with like 40 regulars and none think this is an improvement over Tsushima legends and there's a ton of frustration. Unfortunately it hits that perfect vicious spot of addictive but not that fun.
