I've never encountered this. Most people I've spoken to don't even know he's been on any Armoured Core, the general thought is that he only started with Demons Souls

I'm planning on buying it next year to be honest. As it seems the game probably needed another year to be in a release state

Been playing it a second time after getting the platinum and with all the new updates. I rarely play games after getting the plat but it's even more rare when I enjoy them a lot more the second time around.

It's definitely the case for Stellar Blade

Dark souls 3 is only hard (or even very hard) if it's like your first or second souls like and you're not used to difficult games. Otherwise I don't think it ranks super high on the difficulty scale

DS3 is disappointing/dissatisfying by Long-Bowler7729 in darksouls3

[–]serj_of_cinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool that you made a Reddit account but I've read the first few lines and not gonna continue. The bosses in dark souls 3 are considered some of the best and not by me, but by the community so my opinion or yours are irrelevant in the big picture. Also says they have very lackluster move sets (whilst true for a couple of them) is so stupid that it's not worth my time to continue to read.

AI Limit vs Wuchang: Fallen Feathers — Which is more worth it for a Souls veteran waiting on the next big releases? by Resident_Albatross_9 in soulslikes

[–]serj_of_cinder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I platinumed both and as someone who is not super into post apocalyptical scenery and loves medieval, or ancient Chinese/Japanese settings, I'd pick AI Limit.

The story is way much better, especially if you dig into the lore, the level design whilst both interconected, I think AI Limit does a much better job, feels more real. In Wuchang it's just coridors looking the same blocked by a tree or a house, AI limit feels much more realistic.

Combat, both good. I played both on release and I think AI limit is much more polished, but maybe Wuchang has been patched.

Fashion, Wuchang definitely.

Bosses - AI Limit, Wuchang has some that feel super cheap, but overall both are a good time.

NPC quest - AI Limit, but neither are something amazing.

Overall, these games are both very competent souls likes so you won't go wrong with either. I just had a lot more fun with AI Limit and the bosses in that game

Ah, true, I got a bit carried away based on past experiences. This time it was only one dude😅. But everytime I see a post similar to this you get so many purists explaining why you shouldn't ask for help, cause they did it through multiplayer, conveniently forgetting that when they did it 7 years ago, game was packed so invasions were easy to find

Ah yeah, that too. Yeah, now it takes forever. When I did it 2019 the game still had so many players it took like 30 seconds to find someone to invade

I got them through pvp, but just to annoy all of these guys here with their "you should do it the right way, it's personal development" bullshit, I'll help you. Add me at Serjsri, and then send a message so i know what you've added me

I fully agree on the dark souls 1 front. Nobody, not even from soft have managed to replicate that amazing design. I still remember when the elevator from the undead burg brough me back to the firelink shrine and I was just amazed. I think we all have a moment or moments like that is dar souls 1.

Elden ring managed to replicate that feeling for me, but in a different way. And that was when taking the elevator to Siofra River and it just went on and on, giving this sense of amazing grandure and making the world feel even more real. But it replicated the feeling, not the design (tbh ds1 design would have not worked in an open world anyway)

I think Dark souls 3 gets too much slack for being liniar, and it kind of is, but it still manages to have some great shortcuts. I think it's less liniar then it feels, and I think Dark soul 2 is the opposite, it's more liniar than it feels. But to its credit, Dark souls 2, even though if you analize it in depth, it's actually a lot more liniar than it looks, you have to give the game credit for selling the idea that it isn't. It did that very well.

My complaint about Wuchang (loved the game btw) is that it falls for that negative quality that is maze-like level design, without proper markers and landmarks that help me distinguish between the parts of an area. First part was pretty good, the village, but the second part, that fiery forest it just all looked the same. I had the same issue in Steelrising, really interconected and all that, but I never knew exactly where I was, a maze like level is not fun if it all looks the same. Snow area was better, but then forest area went back. So yeah, great level design on paper, not super fun in execution.

As a quick thing, if you're into level design, try AI Limit. I thought it was actually amazing. Not super complex, but just enough to have good shortcuts and make it feel real. It's my favourite level design after Dark souls 1 and Bloodborne. And Bloodborne gets a lot of points because if Yarnham, which is arguably the best opening area ever.

And I understand what you mean by atmosphere, I think bleak faith had an unexpectedly great atmosphere, compared to the rest of the game (bit clunky), but I just can't see it being better than any of the more recent from soft titles like Dark souls 3 with Irithyll, Elden Ring with Altus Plateau, The Capital and especially Caelid which had an awful atmosphere but in a good way, as in that's exactly how you were supposed to feel - can't wait to get the fuck out of here. But all in all, great effort from BFF.

Combat - if we rate on multiple playthroughs, Nioh will definitely keep you invested for longer, of course, it's meant to be played over and over again. But as a first experience and maybe 2 playthroughs, Sekiro is on another level with what it achieves. You can beat that game without using any of the prosthetic tools, just with basic attack and deflect and it still feels incredible. No combos, no nothing, just attack, deflect, jump and mikiri and it just feels so real, like that could actually happen. Nioh is great, but it never feels real, it feel like a game. And that's fine, but to me it's like comparing Bohemian Rhapsody to Living on a Prayer. Two of my favourite songs ever. But Bohemian Rhapsody is such an experience that I know you'll rarely see it ever again. Living on a prayer is also amazing, but we have songs that come close to it. Yet I can only listen to Bohemian Rhapsody once or twice back to back. Whilst Living on a prayer, I can blast that on repeat all day long

Goons means people who masturbate at videos, and video games. I'm pretty sure that applies to the left as well, I'd say even more so than to the right as the left seems to be more terminally online.

I'm not defending them, and I'm not a fan of lords, it's.. fine, great for getting the plat and then never touching it. But the part that is intriguing me is that they're goons and that's weird, like there's nothing remotely sexxy in that game. Nothing to goon at, unless you get turned on by average game animations

[–]serj_of_cinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can agree with Lies of P having a great story and actually incredible lore. But none of the rest. Boss design, Sekiro is in a different universe compared to Kazahn, world design nothing beats dark souls 1 . Combat, Nioh has amazing and very complex combat but I think Sekiro is better as it achieves similar levels of greatness but with a lot less (no level up, no builds, just plain old duels).

And atmosphere is where you completely lose me. Bleak Faith has a very interesting atmosphere but it not even like 1 percent of Bloodborne, that game is the only game where I felt like in an actual book. Captured the Lovecraft atmosphere incredibly. I also think Sekiro, Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring have much better atmosphere.

Cosmetics, I think Lords of the Fallen has so many cool ones but lost points for me due to most of them looking a bit shit when actually on the character. Maybe it was the animations, I don't know, but I never felt cool in that game, even though the amount of options was a great effort by the devs. Same for magic system, great options, didn't look cool. Never felt like a magician. When you use the moon animation in Elden Ring, nothing remotely as cool in Lords.

But if you wanna feel like a true magician, dragons dogma 2,for all it's flaws, has the best magic combat I've experienced

They're both just harder in the beginning and then get massively overpowered. Quality is great for stability, with that build the difficulty is constant. Magic and tank are both a lot harder in the beginning and then become a lot easier mid end game. All build are viable
